He thought Trump would deport his dog for some reason. All of the kids in his school were talking about how awful Trump is. He's been paying attention to the news ever since. He doesn't usually pay much attention to speeches so I was actually surprised that he was listening but he literally had set down his Switch from playing Fortnite to watch Beto, lol. If anyone has any doubt that Beto can pull in young people that right there is proof he can. A 9 year old boy chose Beto over Fortnite....

Shutdowns, emergencies and tariffs: Trump’s frenetic immigration approach has become central to his 2020 bid
By Toluse Olorunnipa
June 2 at 7:00 AM

As Democratic presidential candidates have put out fresh policy proposals this year on a host of issues including education, child care, housing, climate change, student loan debt, taxes and inequality, President Trump has put forward new ideas at much the same clip.

They just happen to be almost exclusively about one issue: immigration.

Trump has shut down the government, declared a national emergency over his proposed border wall, threatened to close the U.S.-Mexico border, cut off funding for Northern Triangle countries, sent additional troops to the border, fired his top immigration officials, selected an immigration “czar,” pitched an overhaul of the legal immigration system and called for releasing immigrant detainees into so-called sanctuary cities.

On Thursday, he ratcheted up the pressure again by threatening to slap tariffs as high as 25 percent on all goods imported from Mexico — a move that risks harming the economy and undermining a trade deal he had been championing as a potential legislative achievement under divided government. ...

Out of nearly two dozen major candidates, only three — former housing secretary Julián Castro, former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee — have released detailed plans for reforming the immigration system. Most have kept their focus on health care and other issues.

Booker - End Wealth Inequality
Gillibrand - Paid Leave for All
Warren - End Government Corruption & Lobbying as we know it
O'Roarke - immigration Reform
Sanders - End Endless Wars

Haven't heard the others but it's been a fascinating event so far and good for all who participated.

Did Biden have a big rally that kept him from this? Would have thought he would want to be there with the others.

The dinner speech Biden gave is at the HRC’s Ohio dinner event. It’s not a conference. It’s a dinner of 700 people at their dinner and silent auction. It’s a fundraising event for HRC. It’s important event for HRC and as an event planner I’ve done many. It’s not a major speech. It’s a keynote dinner speech at an event.

Worse? What a silly question. Why would Sanders be there?

That was my message. Nanjean asked "why should Bernie be there". My answer is why shouldn't Bernie be there? Could it be because the HRC was and is a strong Hillary Clinton supporter and she a big supporter of the group.

And either way, what’s the difference... Sanders was a much earlier supporter of lgbt equality, which speaks volumes about authenticity of support. He didn't wait for popular opinion to evolve, aka political expedience. Supporting HRC (org.) is hardly the sine qua non of lgbt advocacy.
