Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumNote to Beto: I voted for you in the race where you got so close to Cruz
and that at the last minutes of counting the votes, the vote went from you to Cruz. Rigged? Who can prove it?
NOW....please back out of the pres. race and go for Senate again. You've got a lot of support here in the progressive cities. And I even still have your yard sign in my garage that I'll dust off.
We just need a bit of more effort to GOTV and you could be a US Senator. And lord knows, we need more Dem US senators.
No matter who becomes pres. in 2020, we also need the house and the senate.
SO, I love what you're doing, but come back to Texas and run for Senate!
You're a young guy! Presidential things will probably come around again for you!

(58,785 posts)Beto's running not just for the presidency but for whatever future office he holds, including if it came to it this senate seat. Belatedly elbowing into the Texas race might not be overly gracious to the candidate who stepped forward when Beto wouldn't, but elections are supposed to give voters choices, particularly when they're ones they'd like to have.
But right now he's running for president, it's still way early, and if something were to happen.... We have lots of spare white male candidates, but of them Beto might have a real shot at coming out on top.
