OOPS...crash

I had a major PC crash during a storm. Hard drive is fried. I got a new PC tonight.

The crash kept me from posting the daily results etc for our DU POTUS donation links the last two days.

We also have an entire house surge protector at the meter. I'll be calling the power company tomorrow. But my PC is the only damaged item. It died when the lights flashed at about 4:22 AM.

Lights can flash due to a loss of power, or a momentary surge in power. All light bulbs are built with a power over-rating and as long as you don't go way past their rating there will be no issue other than they won't last as long.

If your lights flicker at all, maybe plugging your computer in your home surge protector is a good idea. Even the high surge rated ones are fairly inexpensive, much less costly than a new computer.

The power in my area is fairly clean, but I keep my computer and phone charger on a surge protector.
