'The people's choice:' Biden widens SC lead in 2020 Democratic presidential primary

Biden is preferred by 46 percent of likely S.C. Democratic primary voters, up 14 points from a month ago, according to a Post and Courier-Change Research Poll released Sunday.

Biden’s post-announcement bump in South Carolina is higher than in other parts of the country, pollsters said.

Sanders might as well close up shop and refund his donors.

I think people are very comfortable with Joe and are afraid of taking a chance anyone else. I dont see how that changes going forward. I suppose if he commits some huge embarrassing gaffe at one of the debates perhaps voters would get nervous and look to someone else. Short of that I dont see anything that can stop him.

Joe Biden — 46%

Bernie Sanders — 15%

Kamala Harris — 10%

Pete Buttigieg — 8%

Elizabeth Warren — 8%

Cory Booker — 4%

Beto O’Rourke — 2%

A +31 point lead over the second place candidate. That's Yuuuuge!

less than accurate.

The South Carolina numbers are particularly stunning because everyone assumed there'd be a Battle Royale in the state, a frenzied fight for the AA vote. But that certainly isn't reflected in these and other poll numbers. Things could shift, of course. But right now? The Democratic nomination is Joe Biden's to lose.

Also, the relationships and personal networks Joe Biden has nurtured over the years is serving him well in SC and elsewhere. People know who Biden is, no surprises, no mysteries. Add 8 years as VP in the Obama Administration? A clear advantage.

especially this early in the game.

If Joe wins the nomination, let's hope he has a lead just like this one over Trump in the general election with about 2 days to go before election day.
