Sanders says he's not interested in asking Hillary Clinton for 2020 advice

Sen. Bernie Sanders said Friday that he hasn’t spoken to Hillary Clinton for advice on the 2020 race, and frankly, he isn’t interested.

“Hillary and I have fundamental differences and that’s just what it is,” Sanders (I-Vt.) said on "The View."

Multiple news outlets have reported that Clinton has met with 2020 hopefuls to advise on the race. But when asked whether he plans to meet with the former Democratic nominee, Sanders flatly said: “I suspect not.”

When the Vermont independent announced his candidacy last month, he joined a crowded and diverse field running the gamut on Democratic ideology. Sanders’ defense of democratic socialism has been a punching back for allies of President Donald Trump and other conservatives, but he enters 2020 largely free of the characterizations as an idealistic fringe candidate of three years ago.

AOC's advice would be valuable, as she's in tune with Bernie's progressive agenda that the American people have been yearning for.

but then turned it around and won the nomination in 2016 by a bigger margin than she lost it 8 years earlier .... couldn't be of any use. #smh

Burning bridges isn't going to be the way to win a nomination.

There are plenty of people Bernie can get advice from if he wanted it but I doubt he needs any advice. He's been in office , the House and the Senate, since 1991. Bernie will be just fine.

She accomplished beating him by 3.7 million votes (or more than 12%) in the primary, and beating Trump by 2.8 million popular votes (more than 2%) in the general. Maybe there’s something to be learned from that?

You can stick to your guns or you can win. If your guns weren’t shooting straight, maybe you need to think about changing them.

and as much as I love him, the last time he won a contested primary was 11 years ago in a very different time and space.

Bernie’s certainty that he has nothing to learn from the woman who won the last round of Democratic primaries AND beat Donald Trump is one of the several reasons he’s not going to make it to the general.
