Related: About this forumSouth Carolina Democratic Presidential Primary Poll - 02 March 2019 - Biden 37/Sanders 21/Harris 9
Biden 37, Sanders 21, Harris 9, Booker 6, Warren 5, O'Rourke 5, Gillibrand 3, Bloomberg 2, Gabbard 2, Klobuchar 1, Brown 1, Castro 0
This is the first one I have seen out of South Carolina since most people announced. Biden also does the best against Trump at only -4 in South Carolina, that's pretty amazing. The rest of the matches are here, also bad news for Graham in the data:

(16,387 posts)Im waiting.
And in politics when youre getting beat by 16 youre getting crushed.
But again, how many southern states did Bernie win in 2016?

(10,721 posts)It didn't work out so well for him. Because, you see, the Democratic electorate in the Deep South can make or break the candidacy of someone seeking the nomination.
When you dismiss the Deep South and celebrate winning a caucus in KS/NE/ID/UT/WY, it's not a good look.

(2,177 posts)Sanders, that does not mean he is not a contender in the primary. Some of us here like Bernie and the bashing is constant. I can see we are going to have the same ugliness that happened in 2016 all over gain. It is very early in the primary and only time will tell how things turn out. I will vote for whoever the winner of the primary is, just like I did in the last election, but I don't go on this board and bash other candidates that I dislike. It is just not productive.

(10,721 posts)Unless Sanders does much, much better than last time among POC and non-millennial women, he'll be finished after New Hampshire.

(13,871 posts)McCain's candidacy was over when W beat him in South Carolina in 2000.
Hillary seemed unstoppable and Obama was still a long-shot when he trounced her in 2008.
I don't think we should let 4 completely atypical states like Iowa (ethanol), NH (small electorate of only 4 electoral votes), SC (50% black voters in Dem primary and 0% in GOP) and Nevada (gambling and hookers) decide the candidates, but since that is the way it will be for at least 2020, coming in a distant 2nd in SC can effectively end a campaign.

(10,721 posts)I don't think South Carolina will determine the outcome, but I do think it'll give us a good idea whether Sanders has any hope. In 2016, he got stomped in South Carolina, which was not a good sign for him. Super Tuesday then confirmed that he was done for. I expect that'll happen again in 2020.

(7,410 posts)Still plenty of time of course.
I personally think there are too many options on the left right now, Harris, Booker, and Warren are basically running identical campaigns. The Left's big disadvantage in the early states is that they have several good options and will split their power, easily allowing Biden and Sanders to finish 1st and 2nd in the first four states.
