Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI think it's too soon to be anticipating Jan 2020
If the primaries would be next month, the polls indicate we could be anticipating proto-tickets of Biden/Harris or Sanders/Warren.
But anyone could be smushed by a reckless driver, health issues, etc.
I think we should wait until next year to see who actually stands a chance of beating Thump.

(7,153 posts)I have ancestry from some of the New England colonial patriarchs who were siring children into their 70s.
And on the other side, from others who (in the preceding generation) all lived beyond the age of 70+.
And Sanders (as a sitting Senator) and Biden (former VP) probably have access to Bethesda Naval Hospital/ er, WRMC ((relocated)) best services. So do Warren and Harris.
But I am saying that weird things have happened, and could happen again.

(58,785 posts)better than either of them would. Just because it's a huge and hugely personal decision for them, and whichever was the nominee would have many people to choose from.
As for Warren/Sanders, in either order, that's a complete no-go. This absurdity keeps popping up. Warren wouldn't support him, much less formally endorse, in 2016. There are really big reasons for that, including that they're very different sorts of people ideologically, temperamentally, and definitely in goals and methods. And even his most loyal supporters can't imagine he'd charm or bargain her onto his ticket.
They intersect in believing in government for the people, but so do all the rest of our candidates. He wants a socialist revolution with centralized systems and planning, complete with overturning of much of our existing order. She believes in well regulated capitalism and working from within the existing order to make it what it's supposed to be.
