We can't have healthcare without profit, because that would make Obamacare look bad

http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511007540#post9

that's right, fellow Dems. passing UHC or single payer would be "handing the Republicans a victory", since Obamacare would have to be done away. We have to keep the insurance death merchants in the system so as not to embarrass the president.

The party is broken beyond repair, if that is how its members think,

Allowing kids to stay on parent's plans until 26
Expansion of Medicaid coverage for the poor (unless the state government were assholes and declined)
No pre-existing conditions exclusion

But it has been a ongoing, fucking bureaucratic nightmare for our household. Single payer now!

8. The "good features" are crumbs, only "good" in comparison to nothing.

Thrown out to appease and placate you.

There's no comparison to universal gov't guaranteed healthcare. And the idea that US citizens haven't the wit to set up a cost efficient and effective universal plan, when so many other countries have already paved the way, is an insult.

That's something many of us have been saying for years. This election cycle has exposed it and the party is about to pay big time.

Personally, as soon as the Florida primary is over I plan on leaving the Democratic Party. I've been a member for 32 years and it's time to move on. That party left me years ago and now it's my turn to return the favor. I no longer want to be associated with either political group and if not for Sanders and a closed primary in my state I'd leave tomorrow. Good riddance to the entire lot.

policy would go away. her claim is a disingenuous characterization of Bernie's plan that you'd expect of a Republican operative.

ill or injured is (no pun intended) SICK and WRONG! And if Single-Payer/Medicare for All saves people a ton of money and covers every citizen in this country, SCREW OBAMACARE! It sucks anyway. It's expensive and the policies suck. Bernie's way is better for everyone.

Though I am thankful for preexisting illnesses being covered, preventative care being covered and women's health screenings being covered. Those are the only good things about it though....and people who couldn't get/afford insurance before can now get it.

All that would be a part of Single-Payer too though, so Bernie's plan is 100% better.

Now claiming that we can't have single payer because of the ACA.

We're pretty much doomed

11. Obamacare will become less and less popular as costs go up

If we don't institute single payer it will be just a matter of time before the republicans will replace it with something far worse. The problem with Obamacare is that it does not control costs adequately..
