Bernie Sanders visit Northstar Elementary

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke to a packed gymnasium at Northstar Elementary in Knoxville at 10 a.m. this morning. Sanders discussed economic inequality, big money in politics, global warming, affordable healthcare and affordable college tuition for public schools.

Chuck Galeazzi from Helping Hands helped introduce Sanders to the crowd mentioning that there are large numbers of Knoxville residents living in poverty and suggested that Sanders' ideas could help some of those people in need.

Sanders took the stage and started by mentioning that his campaign is not funded by super packs like all of the other campaigns, both democratic and republican, but by the middle class making contributions that averaged under $30 per donation.

Sanders began by saying that Wall Street is now stronger than the Republican party and the Republican party is mostly funded by billionaires like the Koch Brothers, that do not support politicians that tackle issues that most Americans deal with, but issues that the wealthy minority deal with.
