of support for Bernie here in Arkansas. The Democrats I know support Bernie, as do the younglings, including those who aren't old enough to vote.

However, we have a significant number of survivalists, KKK members, conservatives, and Republicans who are all hot and bothered about Trump. I saw a sign in front of a "Christian" mechanic's building that read "Trump says what your (sic) thinking! Trump for President 2016!"

I fear there are too many Trump supporters here to net this state for Bernie. On the other hand, too many people perceive HRC as a lying, money-grubbing "liberal" and that will be enough to sink her chances of ever carrying this state.

was educated at a socialist Arkansas college (Commonwealth College) and some of the people who went on to form the Weavers with Pete Seeger also attended. ACORN was founded in Little Rock and started a great radio station KABF and fought Hillary Clinton over low income electric rates, telephone and gas rates and won.

and that was just in Little Rock (not in Fayetteville where I was). But according to another source, Hillary won the court case against ACORN.

"Business fought back. The engine driving the challenge was the Rose Law Firm, which enlisted Hillary to help. Hillary could hardly decline to fight her friends, especially so early in her career. This was the by-product of Hillary’s choice to join Rose. She would advocate for clients who would be on the opposite sides of the causes she had formerly championed.

"The winning brief was crafted by Hillary and a colleague. The judge embraced the theory--that the ordinance amounted to an unconstitutional taking of property. "

and then Hillary and Web Hubbell snatched the victory away from them in court.

"In the early 1970’s, utility rate increase fights were being waged all over the country and not just in places like California and Seattle. ACORN was in the thick of the battles in Arkansas, South Dakota and many other states. The principal objective was winning something we – and others – called “lifeline” rates. Lifeline rates would freeze the price for lower income and elderly users at an affordable level for the first 400 kilowatt hours of usage thereby protecting them against outrageous rate increases. We tried to win at the PSC in Arkansas and would manage to decrease the outrageous requests of what was then called Arkansas Power and Light (AP&L), one of the units of Middle South Utilities, now all known as Entergy. We even decisively won an election in Little Rock establishing lifeline rates only to have the victory overturned in court with Web Hubbell and Hillary Clinton sitting at the utility’s table, but that’s both another story and at the heart of this story, because it has to do with the financing."

as people get to know him. How could you NOT like someone as authentic, truthful, honest and ETHICAL? When people hear a politician telling the unvarnished TRUTH about the state of this country, they can't help but gravitate toward him. It's so freakin' unusual (sadly) to hear ANY politician speak TRUTH TO POWER. Bernie does that DAILY and has done so for the last 40 YEARS.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Please remove this post. Many DUers come to DU for current information and news. This link goes to a bogus, made up poll, on an upstart site that allows any blogger to post anything. It is not a credible poll or source. This post is inappropriate because it is fabricated, and an embarrassment to the DU community who would like to keep the integrity of DU intact.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sun Dec 27, 2015, 10:04 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: That would be a good in thread reply
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: https://www.reddit.com/domain/overtimepolitics.com/

I'm tempted to hide this just because it's from reddit. But if anyone clicks on the pdf link, it's apparent it's a weak survey.

Hillary Clinton  171  47%Â
Bernie Sanders  153  42%Â
Martin O’Malley  15  4%Â
Undecided  25  7%

The jubilation is misplaced.

The alerter's comment, "This link goes to a bogus, made up poll, on an upstart site that allows any blogger to post anything", is simply overwrought.

Hash it out.

Disclaimer: I support Hillary.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Thanks for wasting my time
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I'm voting to hide this because I believe the information posted on DU should be accurate and from a legitimate site. I'm sure it will be overruled as it seems to be all bernie all the time.

Definitely good news. I have a problem with lack of contact information, methodology, and who funds the poll, so I will treat it with skepticism.

On the other hand, it would be pretty cheap for 10 volunteers to call 1000 people in week or so and talk to 300-400 for the survey.

Curious find, but I'd like confirmation before I'd call it reason to celebrate.

Encouraging though.

46. HRC spoke at the big annual Dem. dinner in Arkansas July18th
Mon Dec 28, 2015, 01:32 AM
Dec 2015

That apparently wasn't enough to earn her the loyalty of the rank-and-file Dems. If you may recall, the 2015 annual Netroots Nation meeting was held in Phoenix AZ from July 16th-19th. Hillary was invited, months in advance to participate in the candidates' forum the afternoon of July 18th. O'Malley and Sanders had accepted. Regrets from HRC. Elizabeth Warren was speaking at NN also.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is skipping a gathering of politically active progressives next month that would have put her on the same stage with her Democratic challengers -- and likely set up unwelcome comparisons with liberal heroine Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/06/24/clinton-skipping-progressive-netroots-nation-gathering/

The Arkansas Democratic Party's annual meeting/fundraising Jefferson Day dinner was scheduled for July 18th at the Verizon Center in Little Rock. Obviously, as any politically sentient being knows, the guest speaker for the Arkansas Dems main fundraiser dinner would have been arranged many months in advance. Annual meetings like this are scheduled/venues booked/guest speakers arranged up to a year in advance.

However it wasn't until June 10, only 40 days in advance - that the Arkansas Democratic party ecstatically announced that former first lady Hillary Clinton would be the guest speaker. http://www.arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/archives/2015/06/10/hillary-clinton-to-headline-arkansas-dems-2015-jefferson-jackson-dinner/

Sanders, O'Malley, even Elizabeth Warren all made it to the Netroots Nation gathering in Phoenix AZ, July 16th-19th. Sanders, O'Malley & Clinton all attended a Dem. event in Iowa the day before on July 17th. Even flying coach, Sanders had no problem getting from one event to the other. Surely Hillary, whose private jet usage is second to none, could easily have attended both the Netroots Nation panel in the afternoon of July 18 and jetted in 2.75 hours of luxurious comfort from Phoenix to nearby Little Rock for the Dem. dinner.

It would make a perfect sub-plot for VEEP, or for campaign manager, Eli Gold's (The Good Wife) character to deal with. "Oh, Jesus! The last thing we need is to have Hillary compared to Elizabeth. And Obama wiped the floor with her at the Netroots Nation candidates forum in 2007! Quick! Find another event on the same day that we can book our candidate for and then claim a conflict of interest.
Those Netroots people are too well-informed and too progressive to ever endorse Hillary anyway."
