Sanders announces Dubuque campaign stop for Saturday, Dec. 12

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will host a town hall meeting in Dubuque later this week.

Sanders, an Independent U.S. senator from Vermont, will speak at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Grand River Center, 500 Bell St. Doors will open for the free, public event at 3 p.m.

The meeting is one of four stops on a Saturday trek through eastern Iowa. Sanders will begin his day at 10 a.m. with a racial justice and prison reform forum at Strawberry Hill Elementary School in Anamosa. Anamosa is home to Anamosa State Penitentiary, a maximum-security prison.
