Related: About this forumThe Hillary fan club is running scared and getting folks banned
It is as plain as day. They have stepped up the campaign of aggressive messages, and we need to be careful. They are going to be trying to get folks banned for anything they can, minor or not.
My suggestion to everybody, be polite while rejecting "Hillary is winning" BS. Huge push to that effect that I do not believe in the slightest.

(88 posts)You can tell from a mile away they only continue a thread to get people mad and say something they shouldn't all the while the pros finger is hovered over the alert button. It's pretty sad for adults to act this way. Things must be really bad news at campaign quarters for them to act so out of control. I mean, really, would they do that if Hillary really did have it in the bag? I don't think so. Their frenzied antics are a tell.

(45,251 posts)are getting more and more provocative by design. And the alerts more and more frivolous.
Do not take the bait, unless you truly feel it's worth risking a hide and/or a ban.
Otherwise, keep calm and post on.

I just wish people would quit being such buttheads, and I include myself because I really do not want to vote for Hillary Clinton and her bullcrap in the Democratic Primary.
I can't even say such a thing without being threatened with a ban. I *AM* voting for a Democratic candidate in the Primary, it just so happens to not be Hillary Clinton.
Will damn Primary season ever end? Because I'm to the point where I am hating on Primary season.

they are going anti-men now as they went anti-black last time.
and yet polls claim she leads with men too.she sure isn't acting like it.
I didn't like her racist comments in 2008 and i like being called ant-woman by her supporters supporting her anti-men campagin even less.

(6,604 posts)I figure that if a post of mine is going to be alerted simply for pointing out that a group has significantly more banned members than subscribers (as I recently did wrt the Clinton group), then there's little point in trying to be polite.
Running scared? There's absolutely no question of that. They're alerting on posts containing nothing more than incontrovertible facts, hoping to get lucky with the jury pool.
Keeping your jury blacklist updated would be my additional two cents.

It's been apparent for a while. Just makes me disgusted. Seems like they're making us goosestep or fall in line. I has the sads for the Democratic party these days.

(39,961 posts)How do you like that? Already have universal healthcare. Already have a much stronger social safety net. Don't have insane gun laws, and have caps on prescription drug prices. Maintain pricing for education so that young people aren't in debt up to their eyeballs the second they graduate.
But somehow, US citizens are dumb because we want a candidate that supports all of those things here - Bernie Sanders.
I'm kind of tired of folks that live in the UK, Canada and elsewhere that have all of those things instructing Americans to vote to keep our broken as shit systems just because they see Clinton as some kind of hero.
Not to mention the high likelihood that their sons and daughters will die right along with those from the US if she gets elected, because she's all for boots on the ground.
Sorry I've had enough of endless war and broken social systems.

So I'll just pay no attention to the sonovabithch.
Everytime you get the urge to verbally rearrange some Hillbilly's face and say something for which you will later be sorry, take a deep breath and remember this:
- For them, winning in 2016 is an end in itself. What do they do after that? Go home and let their gal assist Legs Dimon and Pretty Boy Lloyd to rob us -- and them, too. And then send our children and grandchildren -- and theirs, too -- off to be sacrificed in the Middle East at the alter of Big Oil.
- For us, the election of 2016 is a beginning regardless of who wins
- If Bernie wins, we'll have work to do. The Republicans and corporate Democrats will have a working majority in Congress and we will to hit the streets to keep up the pressure and let them know that the people expect them to pass President Sanders' agenda. We can never defeat enough Republicans in general elections or corporate Democrats in primaries.
- If Bernie loses the nomination, then we will have work to do. We must hit the streets and oppose the oligarchy. The operation of the machine, to paraphrase Mario Savio, will at last become too odious for us to any longer part and we must put our bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels and make it stop./li]
- We must make it clear to the oligarchs that they can't have their odious machine back. We are not bound by laws passed by political stooges that, while we may have voted for them, are bought and paid for by these same oligarchs; we are not bound by laws are reviewed by judicial shysters that these same oligarchs have bought and paid for; we are not bound by trade agreements negotiated by agents of a chief executive these same oligarchs have bought and paid for.
- We must make it clear to the oligarchs that we will not fight or die or allow our children or grandchildren to fight or die to extend the era of fossil fuel.
- We will put solar panels on the roof of every house and apartment building in the land and pay no fines imposed on us under laws passed by crooked politicians owned by any oligarch and begin the era of renewable energy.
- We will make it clear to the oligarchs that the land, the seas and air and all natural resources belong to everyone, not to them alone.
- We will make it clear that democracy is the only moral and legitimate form of government, and that democracy and oligarchy are incompatible.
- If this is socialism, let us make the most of it.
We have our work laid out for us. This is the beginning of a struggle against the corporatists for a humanist future. We will not rest until that future is won for all humanity, regardless of who win the election of 2016.

(57,936 posts)Don't swallow the vicious bait out there.
Just ignore the really ugly posts that are intended to provoke anger.
If we ignore those provocative posts that have not point other than to provoke our anger, thye will fall to the bottom of the DU list of posts and simply disappear.
We don't have to be angry about anything other than the issues. We don't have to be angry at Hillary supporters. They are a sorry lot in my opinion.
I honestly wonder how some of the Hillary posts can be so devoid of any intelligent content, any thought. It's as if they are just ground out merely to take up space. They say utterly nothing.
That's how I see it and how I handle it.
Some of the Hillary fans seem to post only to provoke angry, defensive responses from the Bernie fans.
So if you feel angry, take a deep breath and ignore the post and poster you feel angry at.
We represent Bernie, and we want to represent him in a positive way.
Take a deep breath and re-read your post before you post.
Do not use the word "you" in any way that could be interpreted as a personal insult. That's hard sometimes, but it will keep YOU on DU, and we Bernie supporters need you on DU.
Thanks.
Always be civil.

(11,491 posts)Its the same in any relationship, people will say things to try and trigger you and if you don't let them suck you in and take the high road, it makes them more angry but you have your respect!
I have been reading the site less and skipping most all Hillary posts.
I have strong feelings and comments but I don't make them here, only my friends and family know all. Right now your right, on this forum stay positive only.
I am working to get Bernie elected thats what we all need to do.

(17,651 posts)Insult, insert race, age and/or gender into posts when its not necessarily an issue, they will accuse you of hating Hillary because <words>, accusations of alert stalking, claims of initially supporting Sanders but reconsidered because of <words> are common, taunt you straight into a hide....if you let them.
Know the tricks and make your point and keep it moving. They are so not worth your time.

(32,090 posts)starting with the fly swatters and moving on from there. Yesterday one of them told me emphatically that MLK was not a socialist. In what fricken universe, lady? Seriously. The stupid is overwhelming.
Hillary and her supporters may be happy with the corporate (and especially investment bank) takeover of this country but I am not pleased or the least bit amused. The very few at the top are growing their foundations while the rest starve and literally die on the streets (whether in mass shootings or lack of health care).
It is a big dysfunctional mess and it needs to stop.

(5,400 posts)And many more seem to post in tandem with those people. So it's not a serious subject for debate. Yet this place has the standards it has, and that's all there is to it, so we have to adapt.
Ignore the nonsense and/or laugh at it. I've seen people jump in to quote them on their admitting to gaming these boards so that's all we need if they express poutrage at our not playing along. Newer posters get to see what's what when that happens, so maybe they've figured out to not provoke that response.
Secretary Clinton's overall numbers regarding trust/honesty tell the tale, in part, of why the smell of fear is so prevalent, imo. Especially when you look at swing states we must win. It's great that she'd do exceedingly well in NY and California but that's much less important than winning the swing states. And we don't need negative coattails. Voters who are vehemently opposed to a Clinton Presidency could also vote for Republicans down ticket where they otherwise might not. We're going to have lots of close races in the House, Senate, and at the State and County level.
We need a Progressive who has a shot at the swing states and who can energize voters who aren't prone to come out for us. And we need that candidate to not be indebted to big donors just so as to get elected.
Not spending much of their time in office deflecting past scandals would be an extra bonus.

The jury system has fallen into pieces, IMO, and threatens the very principles upon which this site was founded.

But add in more that are just plain angry. And a few serial posters who seem to be confined to the computer and start OP after OP. May put another one on ignore just because all they do is muse about weird things that have no real basis.
The thing that is funny about doing all of that, is that there is a few I do see as if highlighted now and I can watch the pattern of their postings....very rote, very methodical.
And very unconvincing.
