Is the 8% tax for Bernie's Medicare for All plan accurate?

Has Bernie released any figures for new taxes? Hillary's supporters are hitting hard on this and I would like some figures for argument's sake.

Edited to add: I found this post which quoted a 2.2% tax increase for people making less than $250 K:

Bernie's healthcare legislation would impose a 2.2% tax on people earning <$250,000, and the tax would scale from there in a progressive fashion. However, the tax increase would be more than offset by eliminating private insurance payments and end up *saving* tax payers money overall. Funny how that last bit never seems to get mentioned.

Split between employee and employer.

In a sense it is accurate if you are talking about the employee portion of the contribution. Of course we will need to get our annual spend down by about a 1/3 (I am not sure about the actual numbers - it has been a while since I looked at it).

Remember current Medicare withholding is 1.45%/1.45%

will substantially lower the cost and increase efficiency.

Another thing we can say is single payer is not pie in the sky.

If all these other countries can have single payer so can we. No pie in the sky!

health insurance company ever again. I detest them, almost to point of hatred, and am sick of them trying to cheat me, and am totally sick of how much free time they suck from my life because of me having to prove they are ripping me off all the time.

First thing we do, we kill all the private insurance companies.
