Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumJust got an email with great news - Virginians for Bernie!
Regarding petitions to get Bernie on the ballot for the primary:
"We are well over the 200 minimum threshold needed in each congressional district, and way over the 5,000 statewide requirement. on election day alone, we collected 4,741 signatures. we stopped counting when we saw how far ahead of the game we were. i suspect that we topped the 12,000 mark."
It ends with 'if I were Hillary I would be worried about Virginians for Bernie!'
A proud day for Bernie supporters, especially in Virginia!

(41,600 posts)They're in the process of moving back to Illinois and will be voting here, which is unfortunate because VIRGINIA probably needs their votes more than Blue-ish (Repub asshole Governor) Illinois.
GO VIRGINIA! I hope Clinton's cohort, Terry McAuliffe, doesn't fix the election for her. Electronic Voting Machines?

(14,195 posts)Into the machine. The base of the machine is a vault that hoplds all the paper ballots in case they are needed to do a recount.

(41,600 posts)We need to go back to paper! The memory cards in Optical Scanners can be removed and reprogrammed for your candidate of choice. I don't trust ANY electronic voting machines. They're only reliable when the politicians are honest and Bernie and Elizabeth Warren are the only two honest politicians I know. The entire system is corrupt.
WE NEED TO VOTE ON PAPER WITH INK PENS/WATERPROOF SHARPIES.
Congrats getting Bernie on your ballot!

(26,449 posts)But the paper ballot is there. What needs to be done is a random audit of the tabulators before certification of the vote. 10% would be a good start and if anything is found, then expand the number of machines audited.
