Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumAnother shitty story about the Democratic Party - State Level
Ive volunteered to work for Bernie here in NY, and Ive also given them space so that several districts in lower NY are going to start having bi-monthly phone banks and meetings at the restaurant I own. Anyway, I was speaking to one of the coordinators tonight and she told me about our state Democratic Committee - seems at one of their recent meetings, one official got up on the rostrum and said NOW LETS HELP GET HILLARY INTO THE WHITE HOUSE!!!
What the FUCK is going on? We are still in the PRIMARIES, right? Add this to all the other stories Ive heard not just from the DNC but on the State level...I feel like Im living in the USSR. Isnt there still a process were meant to go through? I dont ever remember this much blatant propping up of a candidate EVER.
Its making me even crazier than usual.

(5,141 posts)The Bernie coordinator I mean. Anyway she DID say that after the meeting (they were all delegates at this meeting) she spoke at random to the assembled and she said she realized if she did stand up and said what she wanted to, 75% of the assembled delegates would have cheered.
Thats the one positive I did take away from the accounting. It appears that the majority of delegates there were for Bernie.
But still...fuck me.

After the First in the South Forum she moderated, Rachel Maddow appeared on Chris Hayes show a few nights later to discuss the event. She was surprised by local politicians in SC that she encountered for whom Sanders is invisible.
It's unjust and it's a mess. The people lose from this blatant, anti-democratic behavior.
