A thread in which to complain about the pinned thread changes

Have at it

Edit to explain what just happened. The hosts have long been discussing controlling the number of pinned threads (the sticky ones the hosts can 'pin' to the top of the group) to reducing scrolling to get to the new threads. This also really helps our people reading on mobile.

The threads that were just unpinned are linked in one of the two new pinned threads:

Welcome, Group Info and etcetera.

Except I don't even know what "pinned" means. I have seen the notice, "This thread has been pinned." But I haven't a clue what that means.

Can I pin my own thread, do the hosts do it, or are there pin fairies that visit the site in the dark of night and surreptitiously pin threads?

until yesterday.

I assume you are a host of this group, and if you feel this is a beneficial change, why, knock yourself out. Or, don't. I hereby affirm my trust in your pinning decisions.
