Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumAppreciation Thread for Supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders
I can't remember if this is my third or fourth appreciation thread in this Group, but this one is not only for this group.
This appreciation thread is for the hundreds of thousands of small (relatively) donors to the Bernie campaign; the tens and tens of thousands of supporters of Sanders who attend his rallies; those who flyer and otherwise campaign for him; and, yes, all the genuine supporters of Sanders in this group, past and present; and all the genuine supporters of Sanders who have hosted this group, past and present--all my much loved Beloveds. Even if you do nothing more than put a plus 1 after a post or hit your horn when you see a Sanders sign, I love you.
If you've been posting less, I wish you would post more. If you've wandered off or felt driven off and can return, I wish you would return. However, first and foremost, do what keeps you healthiest and best enables you to do good for Senator Sanders. Oh, and did I mention, I love all you "loonies?"

(1,268 posts)have bugs in their campaign or something to that effect. But on the topic of donating to Bernie's campaign, I feel more inspired to give what I can to Bernie than I did than when I gave to Howard Dean. It wasn't until I saw him at a fundraiser in San Francisco where I not only met Sean Penn, but David Crosby and Bonnie Rait played. Sean was sitting right behind me and I didn't know it until a friend whispered "guess who's sitting behind you." Friendly dude too. I think I gave Dean $100 bucks at that event and a couple smaller amounts later.

(45,251 posts)A very wise DUer told me some always knew he was no liberal, but thought him better than Kerry--and at least Dean had not voted for the Iraq War That made sense to me.
I was not posting on DU then. In fact, I was just starting to get really interested in politics after that election. At that time, the extent of activity was to show up to vote for the Democrat in the general. I happily voted for Kerry, the favorite son of Massachusetts (where I now live).

(10,345 posts)I remember. I was the newbie telling everyone how to act. my bad. I had good intentions but probably overstepped my boundaries.
I'm glad we're in this together though. you're a great teammate merrily.

(45,251 posts)Not so much boundaries as I thought you were unaware of how much we had been putting up with. Just because we were getting accused and maligned constantly, didn't really mean we were bad. And we were taking so much crap outside the group, I didn't want to put up with in a protected group, too. But, you've now been around long enough to assess.
It's all good, Beloved!

(1,884 posts)The others are various degrees of status quo, corporatists and 3rd Way. Is it any wonder Burnie is making such gains, coming form practically nowhere?

(1,884 posts)That confuses enough people long enough for the candidate to get voted in and then we find out otherwise again. Then we start the next election cycle the same way. They again run from the Left and when elected, govern from the Right. Even Bush II did it. So that got old a long time ago.
Me cynical? It's the Silly Season, what cha expect?
