Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumKeep talking it up. Don't stop.
We need to keep mentioning Bernie Sanders, Bernie Sanders, Bernie Sanders... like we're some kind of berserk audio loop or something. I was talking to a friend and I mentioned Bernie Sanders, of course, and I was stunned by her response. "I don't know about him. Is he the black guy?" She confused him with Ben Carson! People are so accustomed to being force fed by the popular media that they have become incurious. They only know what the media hit them over the head with.

(4,458 posts)I stopped watching All corporate media. I had to "shut That Whole thing Down", I screen calls, unsubscribed from corporate pols emails, immediately mailers go to the recycle bin - unread. I haven't even peeked at MSNBC since July. I don't believe I have missed Anything substantial...but I have missed the new trump news channel - the trump cheering section - the force feeding of gop bs - gossip/he said-she said and other "Modern Journalistic Nonsense".
I "divorced" CNN Years ago and FOX hahahahahahaha
Therefore-I still Care.

But I've been gently bringing him up to people. Yesterday I brought him up to a guy that I absolutely respect and have adored for years...wonderful, poised, polite, smiling man that has always been such. So, I mentioned Bernie. He was interested and knew of him enough to say Independant and one of the smaller NE sates. He is a no to Repukes and was "eh" about her. He did say that his wife is watching everything going on (she doesn't work...he has been the sole bread winner for years while she raised the kids).
I scrawled Bernie's site on a scrap of paper along with his Facebook page and FeelTheBern.org (I have GOT to get some business cards with those sites on them!!!)
Hopefully I planted another seed of interest.
On the other side, also worked with a gal that I love to death but...she somehow she mentioned Rump and how funny it all is...uh, I said I don't think he's funny, I think he's bad for America. This from someone that will retire at 65 next June, is married to a retired aerospace engineer and have just signed on a $750,000 "Manor House, out of London where they are going to move to after she retires (he's British). She said they would be done with U.S. Politics once they move...sigh.
