(5,141 posts)Good on Roger.
Full disclosure, I'm in the Dave Gilmour camp and still pissed off royally at Roger, but kudos for the Bernie nod. And Roger has admitted he fucked up so he's starting to redeem himself...a little.

Yes I have strong opinions about Floyd.

(870 posts)And i know how you feel. Good on roger for supporting sanders but he still doesnt get it re:floyd. He mentioned people valuing the property that was pink floyd over anything else. He still thinks PF without him is not PF and he is wrong. If that were the case, floyd ended wiyh the departure of syd.

(5,141 posts)But I agree about Barrett. My older brother had Ummagumma first and my first ever album purchase was Dark Side of the Moon. It never gets old.
A funny aside, my dad and I were staying at a little B&B in Whitstable in England a few years back and we were eating breakfast in the conservatory before making our way to Dover Castle. The music that was being played was 100% Pink Floyd which we both thought a little odd (not exactly English country B&B music) so as we were getting up from the table the owner starting chatting and I asked him "what's with the music? Are you guys Floyd aficionados?" The look on his face was like "what's with you ya daft cow" and he answered "you weren't aware Sydney Barrett and his brother built this house?". Guess I should have seen it on tripadvisor!

(870 posts)Was lucky enough to have a floor seat during the division bell tour. Lifechanging to say the least. I had always hoped Roger and Dave would work out their problems and do one more tour and go out in a flurry of flames and lasers but it never happened
