Opinion: Is Biden-Gillibrand the winning ticket for 2016? GRASPING AT STRAWS DEPT.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/is-biden-gillibrand-the-winning-ticket-for-2016-2015-09-16?siteid=YAHOOB

...Warren would indeed energize the party’s progressive wing, but Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders is already doing a great job of that. Sanders would fade quickly if Biden offered another alternative to Clinton and those energized voters would fall in line behind the vice president....

PURELY DELUSIONAL, FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

THE REEK OF DESPERATION IN THE MORNING...

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M NOT FALLING IN LINE WITH ANYONE EXCEPT BERNIE!

Apparently, mentioning things like that that makes me a Republican or something. (Because facts have a Republican bias?)

She 'evolves' on issues like DOMA and DADT and expects us not to remember that she was conservative one moment and seemingly liberal the next.

Fuck no, that is not a winning ticket. It is no different than Clinton and the neo-liberal she choose for VP. I am done with the New Dems/Third Way/DLC politicians. I will never vote for another one. Period.

I watched the Biden-Colbert interaction.

Unlike many of my fellow DUers and the Marketwatch pundits, I did not see it as spontaneous, unscripted or heartfelt. I was not moved in the least. I know Joe Biden is an insider.

Yup, that was the straw grasped by an in extremis/on-life-support Hillary supporter in the thread discussing her no-reason-given canceling of a public appearance portion of her fund-raising trip to Dallas next week.

26. JFK was killed in Dallas. For all we know, the Secret Sevice pulled the plug on the appearance.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=597829

All we get is some unspecified "conflict of interest". I propose the interest is in not being shown up for the lackluster candidate she is by a comparison of the 8,000 cheering voters who came to Bernie's Dallas appearance. Saw a photo of her public (i.e., they didn't have to pay $1,000 minimum to attend) gathering in Columbus - described as "several hundred".

Several hundred people gathered in front of her stage in a Downtown Columbus ballroom, but the room could have fit hundreds more to the side of the stage and in the balcony. A handful of demonstrators – supporters of Bernie Sanders, along with opponents of abortion rights – gathered outside.

"Several hundred" would have been the local Democratic committee people - who are typically ordered to attend such visits.

To that "crowd" - which looked more like a huddled and depressed group ordered to "stand close together so you look like a crowd" - Clinton hailed her husband, former President Bill Clinton, for presiding over a balanced federal budget. That's an achievement (Ohio Governor) Kasich takes major credit for, since he chaired the House Budget Committee during the late 1990s. But Clinton didn't reference Kasich overtly.

"She knows she can't win the White House without winning Ohio – and she can't win Ohio against Gov. John Kasich," said John Weaver, Kasich's national campaign strategist, in the fundraising email.
And then of course, the obligatory, quasi-intimate, fund raiser w/ the wealthy - "Right here, folks! Get your picture taken with Hillary for only $2700!"

Later Thursday, Clinton attended an East Walnut Hills fundraiser hosted by Jennie Berliant and her husband, Allan, the CEO of Hyde Park's Best Express Foods and former member of the national finance committee for President Barack Obama's campaign. Attending the fundraiser cost $2,700 per person, the maximum per-person donation for the primary cycle, according to an invitation viewed by The Enquirer.

Why do the authors of these straw-clutching pieces always put the man before the woman? This is about qualifications - and Gilibrand is idiologically a lot closer to Sanders than Biden.
