Attended my first Bernie event in California today

The Farmer's Market at Jack London Square, right on the water. Was a beautiful place, beautiful day and awesome little event.
This event was put together by a woman named Joy, a DU reader and Thom Hartmann fan, who helped organize the grassroots campaign for President Obama. Evidently, she was flown to Chicago to learn how to teach volunteers. (Really hope I got that right since she will be reading this. 
)
Joy brought great flyers, "Meet Bernie" that she shared with two other volunteers and me, that we passed out for a couple hours.
I was very lucky to meet Joy, Cheri and Eve. These are three very well informed women. They're as anxious as all of us here to make sure this country, this world, has a chance, and that Bernie Sanders is our next President.
Had some great conversations with people who were interested in Bernie. The gamut ranged from 18 year olds to people in their 70s. All colors, all shapes and sizes, couples, both straight and gay, etc. Just about everyone was interested to learn more about Bernie.,
There were people who stood and discussed for a while and some that just took the flyer, wanting to learn more, and a few that never heard of Sanders but listened, asked questions and took an interest.
All in all, it was a great little event.
I can't wait to find out what Joy and these women have to teach me.

'Bernie is the easiest sell in the world'! Yes!! That is what I am finding also. He so resonates with people, he is so authentic that people recognize that right away as soon as they listen to him, and then look at his record!

Absolutely going to see them on the 9th at a pot luck Joy is having to teach us to rally our own Bernie volunteer groups.
Damn, I missed that Bernie deal and to think I was just almost in Oakland yesterday-- I was in Livermore for a matinee showing of the HMS Pinafore.
So that's very cool and the pics are fun! If there's ever a DU meetup in the area I hope I learn about it. Oakland, San Francisco, I'm all over the place!

No marym625, I am not exaggerating when I say 'inspiring' . What you did quite honestly 'further' inspires me! Allow me to explain:
A week ago I ran into a very small elderly lady wearing a dirty Bernie Sanders shirt at the Yelm (Wa) Food Co-op. Of course I couldn't resist speaking with her. The first thing I noticed was a beautiful English accent but the second thing I noticed, (and it ran me over like a steamroller) was that this lady had more spunk* regarding all things Bernie than any ten of DU's Sanders Supporters COMBINED! We discussed Thom Hartmann; we discussed why it is critically important to vote for Hillary Clinton if Bernie Sanders does not get the nomination, (especially to fill SCOTUS vacancies was her admonishment to me when I raised an eyebrow on this subtopic); we discussed the Seattle rally that we both attended and the Portland Rally the very next day that she also attended. We even discussed the boxes our Bernie Bears** came in. Outside her car was plastered with bumper stickers, the only sticker that wasn't Bernie Sanders related said: "Proud Student of Thom Hartmann University"! Lastly, (when I was able to get a topic in edgewise), I mentioned that I was a loyal member of the big ol' Democratic Underground. (She said she'd have to check it out, hopefully she sees this post).
I gave her my telephone number because she told me that she wants me to help her promote Bernie Sanders in our area! What you relate here in your OP is inspiring to me marym625 as is the indomitable will of this lady I just met. I've never worked for anyone's campaign prior to this but as soon as my dental work is completed, (2-3 weeks), I'll be out there working hard for Bernie too. (I need to add that I just got a fancy-shmancy new digital camera so hopefully I'll get to be posting way cool photos like yours here too).

And falling asleep. Don't know what woke me but I need another hour or two.
Yeah, that had always been a problem for me too, except for with my brother. He gets up and goes to work before I would start getting ready in Chicago. So, we would talk in the morning as he drove to work and I was just waking up.
