We Bernie Supporters have been receiving a lot of 'love letters' lately with lots of 'advice' etc.
But this one is to actually applaud the amazing, awesome job those who have been supporting Bernie's campaign have done in just over three months!
From day one when Bernie announced he was going to run, he had an instant army of volunteers ready to prove the naysayers WRONG but mostly to get his Progressive Left Message out to the people without the use of Corporate Money, knowing that the Corporate Media would not be promoting a non-Corporate Candidate.
And that army has steadily grown as his volunteers spread the word to more and more people.
Though we still have a long way to go regarding NAME RECOGNITION, just LOOK at what the people working together have achieved so far:
The Largest Crowds of any other Candidate in this Campaign:
Everywhere he goes he is attracting the largest crowds of any other candidate in this campaign! How is that happening, the status quo people are wondering?
He isn't buying expensive ads or getting much help from the Corporate Media, and yet, the crowds keep on coming, growing bigger and bigger all the time, including in RED STATES!
It is because of his SUPPORTERS. They are using all the tools available to them, to get the word out to as many people as possible, and so far no one can argue, they have proven to be better at promotion than all the expensive, Corporate Funded 'promoters' working for all the other candidates!
Advancing Steadily in the Polls:
When he began this campaign, he had the equivalent of ZERO name recognition and was polling at around 3%. I remember being told 'he doesn't stand a chance, he's at 3% for crying out loud'!
Well now he has already beaten the Dem Front Runner in one very important state according to polls and in now more than just a few outliers has broken into the 30s always trending upwards, while the Front Runner has fallen below 50% for the first time in a recent poll.
Not to mention he beats the top three Republicans, including the Reality TV Star, the Repub current Front Runner (lol) proving WRONG the notion that even if he won the Nomination, 'he can't beat the Repubs'.
Donations from hundreds of thousands of us have made it possible for him to finance this campaign.
All the credit for the success of Bernie's campaign so far goes to:
1) His obviously skilled and savvy Campaign managers who are organizing all his events, and who clearly are in touch with the people, as Bernie himself is.
2) US, his Supporters who are working beautifully with his campaign to keep his amazing momentum going until every last voter in the country knows who Bernie is and hears what he has to say!
Bernie's Supporters are most likely the ENVY of all other candidates for so many reasons.
Bernie doesn't have to pay us being one major reason. To have that kind of enthusiasm, not to need paid promoters and/or expensive ads, probably equals millions of dollars in 'campaign funds' which they have to get from entities to which they will become beholden.
Most importantly, Bernie's volunteer supporters make it possible for him to remain free to SPEAK OUT AGAINST those who are harming this country, to TELL THE TRUTH to the American people without fear of having his funding taken away.
Bernie has the most awesome, amazing supporters of any other candidate, not to mention how much FUN they are too!
And if we keep up the good work, imagine what we can do over the next three months!!

(62,325 posts)and all over Social Media, I am amazed at those who are working so hard, those who started Bernie2016TV eg, all volunteers, not to mention all the great DUers here, and at what they have accomplished, against all the 'convential wisdom' of the 'experts'.
I feel an urgency to take advantage of what I believe may be a chance that won't come along again for a quite some time, and that if Bernie is willing to take the risks he's taking to do this for his country, we owe him support or we better not complain in the future, if we don't.
Thanks for the kind words though

(62,325 posts)to change things, it gives me the encouragement to not give up and just assume the oligarchs have assumed so much power there is not much we can do about it.
If Bernie says we can, then I believe that.
I know we can!

At least that is what I have been lead to believe .... but I think it may be as simple as having the people on our side:

(62,325 posts)talking points, attempts at smear campaigns, attacking his supporters when all else fails.
Imagine thinking you were building a career inside DC only to find that every effort you have has failed miserably and it really isn't your fault. The old ways just don't work when you have a candidate like Bernie, you have to throw out all the old rules and start really thinking, 'maybe we are on the wrong side, we just can't SMEAR this guy'!
Could Bernie destroy the Smear Campaign Business all by himself? Lol!
And really, I WANT A volvo. But could never afford one.

(13,685 posts)The reason is: Bernie flat tells it like it is, and he tells the truth and he speaks for so many who wish to be heard and have not until now.
It is a revolution, a People's revolution, a new American revolution, and it will last well past the time President Bernie is carried into the White House on our shoulders.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)at how quickly people are joining Bernie's political revolution. And you are also right re we won't be leaving Bernie alone after he wins, and I don't think HE will leave us alone either.

And folks...two things to think about:
1. September 8th Money Bomb for Bernie's Birtday...OmahaSteve, will you remind us?!
2. Bernie on the D.C. Mall...they are looking at a date in October...and sounds as if they are close to 100,000 RSVPs so far...that was the number for them to move forward with the project...if you can make it to D.C. keep your eyes and ears available for updates.
GO Bernie! GO Berners!
Loves ya all!

The old media is as Dinosaur, focused entirely on a Reality TV Star while most of those who actually want news, tuned them out long ago. All the money they spent buying up the old media, only to be left in the dust by the new media and the PEOPLE.

I couldn't be prouder of the great team supporting Sanders. We will get there.
sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)happy by returning to help us get there. We have an incredible army of Bernie supporters, most of whom KNOW it isn't really just about this one candidate, but about this country. But we needed someone to step forward to change the conversation AND to give a voice to the people. I am so grateful to Bernie for being the one to do that. I know he was happy in Vt where he could mingle with the people, go to the barber shop and chit chat with ordinary people and live his life peacefully, doing his best to do the right thing, cast the right votes.
I believe he is making a great sacrifice on behalf of the people, and the least we can do is to support him.
I am proud to be a part of the wonderful army of Bernie supporters which is growing every day.
And proud that you are part of that Catherina.
Catherina
(35,568 posts)and I agree with you. We have an incredible army here and it sounds, acts and fights just like the incredibly army on twitter, on Facebook and other social media. This is real. This has been festering for a long time and it's not going away.
I'm grateful to Bernie for the same reasons and proud that we're lining up around solid issues and the battle lines are drawn that way too.

(62,325 posts)for every candidate seeking political office that no one who ISN"T working to change it, has a chance, no matter how much corporate funding they receive, of getting such an important job and we fill Congress with people who are NOT beholden to Corporations, but who are working for the People who elect them.
Thanks for your post, libodem!
We just have to keep at it and never let the enthusiasm wane. It's up to all of us to make this happen.

(3,247 posts)which certainly sways my feelings about his electability, as do the great crowds he is getting at events. I liked O'Malley for all the things which I felt would weigh in electability-- age, looks, party affiliation, accent and status as an ex-governor in a neighboring state all biasing me in his favor.
But the uproar surrounding this Sanders candidacy says something about what electability is really about in 2016, and it's not any of those superficial qualities that I thought made O'Malley more electable. Bernie's touching something in the American electorate I wasn't sure was there, and it's very encouraging to see. Seeing personal reports from DUers has been a wonderful window into the momentum of this campaign. I hope y'all keep sharing stories.

(62,325 posts)We had no representatives with a big enough microphone to let the world know what we thought and how angry over what has happened to this country, people were. OWS was the first demonstration of what was there, and they were so frightened to see it rising to the surface that they went to WAR against that peaceful movement. Frank Luntz I believe, stated that he was 'terrified of OWS'.
They thought when they bought the media and fed the public all the propaganda and totally 'controlled the message' as Hillary once stated when she was asking for funding to help us 'get our message out' because she was afraid that all the independent media and foreign media, thanks to the internet, was 'doing a better job'. Iow, THEY were publishing NEWS and it was drowning out 'the message'.
They so underestimated the fact that people KNOW when something is wrong and no amount of propaganda or news blackouts regarding FACTS, changes that.
Bernie is merely providing that voice and it's interesting to see even Republicans saying they will vote for him, NOT because they agree with him on many things, but on the MAIN things, ending Wall St Greed, interfering in every country in the globe, and mostly, the MONEY IN POLITICS, they want those things fixed first then can go back to arguing over the rest.
