(14,255 posts)They see everything and anyone that is not FOR Hillary as The Enemy, and attack. Like a hive of wasps. It is almost like not getting a groundswell of "Hey, why bother with a primary" was completely unexpected. Every criticism of Hillary is labeled a RW smear.

(8,175 posts)It's no different attacking Hillary supporters than Hillary supporters attacking Bernie supporters. Both sides need to knock it off.

Showed them the FEC filing.

Nope.
Seems "affiliation" isn't enough. (Forget the fact that there's no "member" box)
It's TREASON, ya hear?
TREASON!!!!
BTW: Why didn't I get a membership card? And shouldn't they assign me a number?

(12,655 posts)that makes sense. so do most people ignore rather than engage? hate to point fingers, but it seems to be hillary supporters, at least in my experience.

(12,655 posts)i was on another discussion board and someone said they were upset that obama "snatched" the nom from hillary and they didn't want it to happen again. as if it was given that she should have the nom, like she deserved it becsuse she wanted it.

(19,537 posts)... and if he's got Elizabeth Warren as his VP then, I think she'd have a great chance at getting elected in 2020. I think one could hopefully talk to many of Hillary's supporters who feel they will at least live five more years.
I have a good friend here that is a Hillary supporter who basically said this to me too as to why she supports Hillary so much. I try to get her to look more at the issues, as she has been involved with helping the local Occupy movement, etc. too, but she still seems more about trying to help the Democrats as a team and helping Hillary win to help get more representation for women, than looking at the details of her positions. I think many of her friends are trying to persuade her like I am too, but some people have very strong wills.

(34,195 posts)I'm voting for Bernie because of the man and his ideas.
I'm 69 and I've always voted for the person I believe to be the best candidate.
That said, I think the last Republican I voted for was City Council in Hartford back in the 70s.

(3,601 posts)Bernie seems better than Hillary. (I know nothing about O'Malley.) I'm nervous about Hillary's Wall Street ties. But Hillary would be a hundred times BETTER than Carnival Cruz, Trump T. Trump, Huckleberry, Jindally Cricket and any other Repub.

Well-known, widely-respected, rather vociferous in their support of #BLM... to the point of saying something ridonkulous like that. (45,251 posts)or stay home or vote Green or whatever rather than vote for Hillary.
People are tired of having their voice stifled, tired of LOTE voting, tired of the status quo, tired of dynastic thinking and some are just tired of Clintons.

(7,723 posts)whereas Clinton will not be able to do this.
What I'm unsure of is whether Bernie will turn off more Hillary supporters than Dems he brings in. I know some Dems are convinced-- CONVINCED-- Bernie is not electable. But many of these people would still vote for Bernie if pressed, I suspect. So it seems to me Bernie has the ability to draw in more Dems overall.

(45,251 posts)A majority of registered Democrats will vote Democratic. However, I do not consider that strategic voting, but party loyalty voting or LOTE voting.
For me, strategic voting in a Presidential election is figuring out whether or not your county is one of the counties that will determine how your state's electoral votes will go and then taking it from there. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12778561
Living in a solid red or a solid blue state gives you a lot of freedom to use your vote to say exactly what you want it to say. So does living in a solid red or solid blue county in a purple state.
