"I was into Hillary, but Bernie kind of sucked me in with his economic ideas,”

Check out the excellent piece the Ames Tribute ran covering Bernie's Town Hall at the Boone County fairground.

snip

Rodney D. Michel, of Mackey, said he attended the town hall meeting because he thinks Sanders is the right candidate for the time.

“He’s speaking the language of the common person. We’ve had too many billionaire candidates out there,” he said. “He’s just the total package as far as I’m concerned, because he speaks to the anger people are feeling now.”

Sanders’ latest stance on racial justice was one reason Rylie Van Marel, of Ames, decided to come out and see him Saturday.

Sanders ended his speech with his stance on racial justice, which received one of the largest cheers from the crowd.

Americans are over the same old, same old.

All they need to do is hear Bernie's common sense and mainstream message and people are Onboard for Bernie!

An article that does not contain all the usual canned slights, against Bernie.

Nice to read!

I worked for 13 years as a reporter for a local daily.

Reporters for the local daily (or weekly) earn less than teachers and take their jobs seriously. They want to get the story right, don't listen to national memes and aren't in the pockets of the wealthy.

That's why successful politicians, especially on the left, know to do interviews with the local reporters. They'll get a far better shake and the article will be written from the most non-biased viewpoint possible.

Local reporters don't have much to gain by sucking up to conventional wisdom.

It was the elephant in the room too many couldn't, and intentionally would not see.

It's literally a matter of life & death, and if we don't reign in the plutocrats, then nothing else can be accomplished since we'll all be desperate serfs.

Can't find the link...sorry. Maybe someone else?

Going to be hard to convince them that their bread and butter...i.e. more inmates...is a good thing.
