because NYC is so "BLUE" as contrasts with most of the rest of the state. I hate this Red/Blue state crap.

Believe it or not, I work with teachers on Long Island, yep, teachers, that vote republican
Our Democrat teachers just shake their heads. I told them about Bernie when school was just about over in June. They never heard of him. Can't wait to get back and see what they think now

for 2 hours to a packed house of 500+ on June 9 in Arl., VA that I attended. It was just incredible, a forum not a rally although many there were real fans. Bernie's presence in a room is commanding to say the least and what a powerful voice and message. I said hello briefly afterwards before he left. After the event I was naturally high for 3 days!
------
Saw Elvis when very young in college. Noticed he was playing so I got 2 tickets, borrowed a car and drove an hour to the concert.
I'd asked my sister and a couple girlfriends but they weren't interested. Elvis was very popular when I was real little although I don't recall listening to him on records or TV at home. It was c. 1974 and he was almost out of style (post Beatles) but something told me go and glad I did.

At the Elvis performance I was one of the youngest people there which was ok. It was mostly ladies, some in white shindig boots! and with young kids. I walked around to an upstairs balcony to look right down on him and the stage for a great view. A couple security men came over and said I could stay, so there I was 25 feet right above him. And he still looked great! in a white fringe outfit with some gold. Unreal. At the end he sang "Teddy Bear" and tossed out aqua blue scarves to the ladies in the audience who went wild!

Elvis singing 'It's Now or Never' based on the Italian classic, 'O Sole Mio' he heard while in Europe. Here he's leaving Germany and returning to the States.

Wow, sounds like great experiences. I hope I get to see Bernie.

Shindig, brings back a lot of memories. Used to tape those shows with my big sister.
My favorite still is the Beatles. I loved the British Invasion
What I love now the most, is that every kid knows them and their songs. I still think we had the best music ever.
