A sea of young people OF ALL RACES! Really great, effective speakers including Bernie's new press secretary. They had a young Hispanic woman talking about immigration, they had a nurse talking about today's endorsement by the NNU, several others and, finally, Sarah Silverman talked a little bit and then introduced Bernie.
My ears are still ringing. I've got LOTS of pictures but it will take me awhile to d/l them and post them here. There's a great picture of a St. Bernard wearing a Bernie T-Shirt so it was St. Bernards for Bernie. LOL.
This is L.A. so there was gay, straight, transgendered, you name it, all groups were well represented there. I'm telling you the young people have absolutely taken over this campaign and, speaking as someone who has been doing this forever, I'M TIRED and y'all need to take over now. But I have your back.
ETA: So, I haven't been able to figure out how to get the pictures off the iPhone onto DU yet (new phone) and I'm getting ready to drive back home but AT SOME POINT I will get the pictures up. Probably closer to tomorrow morning.

(38,613 posts)There was an incredible amount of technical difficulty, I suspect at least partially due to so many wireless signals all in one space. And every time the crowd cheered, it would overload the audio and become silence, but we knew it was applause. And we were so damn grateful to get any of it, including the crowd panoramas!
He hit EVERY note!!!

(10,345 posts)my native friend, I have not heard of any events in our state.
but there is one in Charleston, SC on the 22nd so I smell an Eastern campaign tour coming very soon!!!
NorthCarolina
(11,197 posts)so when I saw your post I thought possibly one had been recently scheduled and I just hadn't learned of it yet. I'm still hopeful he will get here as we'd love to go see him.

(46,436 posts)Presidential candidates NEVER come up here, but I know he would be well received. Almost all of my friends support him.

(46,436 posts)Shame on you. But the fact is that she stayed out of Alaska during most of that campaign season, which was fine with me. The sad thing is that at one time Obama was planning to come up here to campaign, but after she entered the race, he wrote it off.
Incidentally, President Obama is coming up here the end of this month for some kind of international Arctic conference, and wouldn't you know? I'm going to be up in the Brooks Range on an Aurora photo-shooting excursion the whole time he's here. I can't win.

(18,791 posts)That was a HUGE mob of support...it was a good thing you got there early.
As said above, they had a heck of a time with the live feed but Bernie2016.tv got feed for us, finally.
So where wer you sitting? Or standing??
I did just see a good report on the event at 10:15P, on KTLA 5. I was really surprised that it was very positive!

(8,352 posts)but I just wasn't feeling well enough to brave the crowds. My partner did, and she shared all of the same that you did.
It was an amazing event.
But of course, you know this simply means he has plateaued.

(7,231 posts)It's that his connection with PoC and Latinos is now well-known (sharing the stage with an immigrant speaker, opening with BLM) but his connection with LGBT was a bit drowned out in that sea of positive messaging.
Maybe San Fransisco will be visited too? That would be awesome.

(26,001 posts)A great L.A. mix of a crowd! And what an extemporaneous lay-it-out-there talk from the Senator!
My ears are still ringing too!

(1,253 posts)I've been going to rallies/marches/protests for 40 years and I've NEVER felt that kind of energy in one place. Added Bonus: Sarah Silverman KILLED. Mr.Sanders has a tiger by the tail and I do believe he will go all the way!
