Bernie Sanders brings campaign to Seattle, Portland
Associated Press and KING 5 News 2:09 p.m. PDT August 6, 2015
SEATTLE -- Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is taking his presidential bid to the West Coast, with rallies planned in the coming days in Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles.
During a conference call Thursday ahead of his Saturday events in Seattle, Sanders said that his focus on issues like the middle class, climate change, criminal justice reform is resonating with voters, and sets him apart from Democratic primary front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Sanders will be at Westlake Park in Seattle Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to speak at a social security and Medicare celebration. That evening, Sanders will appear at a campaign rally to discuss income inequality, climate change and college affordability. The rally will start at 6 p.m. at the University of Washington's HecEdmundson Pavilion.
He's also scheduled to hold a rally at Portland's Memorial Coliseum Sunday night, before heading to an event in Los Angeles Monday.

(62,325 posts)If we had a real news media we would be hearing a lot about Bernie's campaign, instead we are turning the current circus into a game show on the MSM.
Sad to see people going along with turning our elections into a joke.
So it's good to know that somewhere there is some serious coverage of the candidates.

(8 posts)The Portland Rally was to be at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which holds around 10,000. But
over the last few days RSVPs have been way over 10,000. I received notice today organizers have moved the Rally to the MODA Center across the street. The MODA Center holds around 20,000.
