Our CURRENT president has had trouble because of a mostly republican congress. So when they make that statement, I'm like duh.
Hillary would meet the same damn challenges. All democratic possibilities would meet that challenge with the current congress so yeah, whenever I hear this, I roll my eyes.

(41,140 posts)in Congress and in his state with people of different views and conservatives. I'm confident that Bernie has the abilities and temperament to push for change and to work hard and skillfully to reach consensus on major matters.
Our circus of legislators are going to give any president, Democrat or Republican, a hard time leading. We have to get back to a non polarized system like we had post- FDR.

(316 posts)Bernie is well respected in congress. He will be very effective in working with congress as president. He will also be effective in mobilizing voters to replace members of congress who obstruct the progressive agenda. Just imagine what he could do with access to prime network TV time for speeches and press conferences.
