Can someone answer a Bernie question that was emailed to me?

I couldn't find anything on the website and I thought someone here might know. This is the question:

I wished to ask him his opinion on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and his thoughts on Benjamin Netanyahu. I also wanted to know whether or not he would place sanctions on Israel for their actions if he we're to become president.

Anyone know how to answer this?

Thanks,
LTH

He did not attend when Netanyahu spoke before Congress.

That is all I know.

directly, but made very clear that he refused
to attend Bibi's address to congress.

The problem with that particular question is that
all dem candidates will probably answer it in
the same way; however since Bernie is jewish
people are more suspicious about it.

That is all I can say, except that I hear HRC
claiming that Bibi is a friend of hers.

"Two states, but Israel is right"

He doesn't seem a big fan of Netanyahu, but really that's not saying a great deal - the difference between Netanyahu and Israel's "opposition" is the difference between Trump and Cruz, really. Same with the difference between AIPAC (who Sanders also doesn't seem to be on stellar terms with) and J-Street: Same shit, just on a different shingle.

He would likely not sanction Israel, barring some real extreme bullshit from Israel. I think the harshest we could expect from him is a stiff finger-waggle now and then. Which is, in all honesty, more than we can usually expect out of the president of the united States.

I also think that he's a compassionate, level-headed guy, who would probably do more to help the Palestinians (insofar as they can be helped without hindering Israel...) than any modern president - and he'd do it for the sake of the Palestinians and Israelis, rather than to feather his own cap. I can't say how successful this would be (one cannot elevate the oppressed without stripping powers from their oppressors, after all) but again, more than we would usually expect from a US president.

I don't think that he would go for sanctions...

My hope is that he could influence Israel, and especially the Israeli people.
