It happened in TX, and it was on Facebook on the 19th. People just aren't paying attention.

5. Cops murdered Sandra Bland. I do not have the slightest doubt about that.

Bernie Sanders and the controversy aside, why can't something be done about this murder right now? This is bullshit, more bullshit, never ending bullshit.

7. Well, right now the FBI/DOJ are involved in the investigation

That is helpful.

Of the Democratic candidates, O'Malley and Clinton can't do anything right now other than talk.

Sanders could introduce some sort of bill in the Senate, but it will not get any movement for a very long time. They've got long recesses, the Iran deal and budget bills to get through. And that's assuming the Republicans don't just bury the bill.

8. A bill would most likely have to originate in the Judiciary Committee.

Bernie is not a member of that committee. Bills introduced from the floor aren't going anywhere.

Another problem is that Sanders is the only Progressive in the Senate, and there's only two Black Senators (one is Republican). There is no Senate Black Caucus. There are large Black And Progressive Caucuses in the House, some Representatives belong to both. And Rep Hank Johnson (member of both) is also on the House Judiciary Committee. He was a participant in a BLM panel discussion at NRN Saturday morning. I don't know if BLM has approached him about introducing legislation, but it would be logical to do so. He wasn't ambushed or protested, and he is a declared Hillary supporter.
