Lil B endorses Bernie Sanders - 1.25 Million Twitter followers

http://hiphopdx.com/news/id.34675/title.lil-b-endorses-presidential-candidate-bernie-sanders

In a handful of tweets sent this week, Lil B expressed his support for, and later endorsed presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Last week, the Berkeley, California rapper expressed his “love” for the Vermont senator and his family. Days later, Lil B gave Sanders his official endorsement via Twitter.

“As much as I want to a woman leading the USA, right now it's all about Bernie @BernieSanders @SenSanders he's the real he loves us - Lil B,” Lil B tweeted yesterday (July 15).

The rapper also expressed his excitement at being followed by Sanders, and encouraged other politicians to follow suit.

Now, go check out the comments. These are young people of color engaging. This is something we should all be very excited about. They know the issues. They speak their minds.

Glad to see some of the hip-hop community coming out for the Bern. Especially Killer Mike.

Now I just need to see Chuck D & Adam Horovitz.

Yeah, Sanders has such a problem with the young AND PoC.

The biggest push should be to get out the vote among young people. They are all going for Bernie and he is a meme all on his own. That takes hold and builds enthusiasm. Lil B is supporting Bernie for the same reasons we all are. He's not the biggest, but reaching that many people is like an endorsement. And there is probably no one on Killer Mike's list that isn't politically aware.

So maybe the polls aren't really reflecting what's going on out there.

Mark Ruffalo 1.76 Million
Susan Sarandon 272 k

And I'm sure more but I don't look around that much. But now with twitter, it's different than a celebrity saying something in an interview you read or something. Now they talk to you everyday and their message seeps into your brain.

there is constant bullshit on here about the lack of meaningful support from PoC.

Here are two major examples with millions of followers.

That is hardly meaningless.

My goodness! You must not be in the right groups!

Have you seen one post by a PoC, calling Sanders a racist? Or insinuating he "doesn't get it"?,

I remember one saying he needs to listen but I don't think it was even an OP.

We all need to just stay away from the next one. You know there will be a next one.

The disingenuous "I just posted a quote" while putting in the book and again, something that has absolutely zero to do with Bernie Sanders, is despicable.

This is not a fight for equal rights or social justice. It's just an attempt for attention, to take the spotlight off the of the actual racist and bigoted remarks by another candidate and smear someone that has actually done something in the fight for civil rights.

I honestly don't understand how it's allowed here

Bernie can't appeal to people of color

Also let's remember a lot of young voters like Bernie.

More people become familar with him the more support he gets.

I'm sorry if it seems like i'm banging a dent into this drum, but I've got a worrying concern that many of these people rooting for Sanders are going to be content to vote in the General. He has to get there first! Bush folks to register Democrat, (or not, in open primary states) and put their pens to Bernie sanders for the primaries. He can't beat the living shit out of trump (or whatever abomination the Republicans coughs up) unless he makes it through the convention. and the only way to do that is make support for him clear and solid through the system in place - and that absolutely requires voting and caucusing!

Are you feeling the Bern? Awesome. Make the DNC feel it too.

I hope he has good people organizing GOTV. And he's going to need some veteran caucus experts to teach the newbies the caucus process and pitfalls.
