Bern Notice: A 13 Point Swing Has Sanders Gaining Ground On Clinton In North Carolina

A new poll from PPP reveals that Bernie Sanders is gaining ground on Hillary Clinton in North Carolina.

According to PPP:

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton still has a dominant lead, but things are tightening up some in the way that they are in other places across the country. Clinton’s at 55% to 20% for Bernie Sanders, 7% for Jim Webb, and 4% each for Lincoln Chafee and Martin O’Malley. Clinton’s dropped from 62% to this 55% standing over the last month, while Sanders has made an almost corresponding lead from 14% to 20%. Webb’s up 2 points from a month ago, and Chafee and O’Malley have stayed in place.

Clinton’s polling over 70% with African Americans, 60% with liberals and women, and 50% with moderates and voters in every age group. The 2 places she is doing a little weaker are with white voters where she leads Sanders 45/24 and men where her advantage is just 46/29.

Bernie Sanders has solidly become Hillary Clinton’s main challenger for the Democratic nomination. Martin O’Malley is going nowhere fast, and the others have no chance to catch Sanders.

Hillary Clinton remains the overwhelming favorite to win the Democratic nomination, but she is being pushed by Sen. Sanders in a way that the media never anticipated. Sanders’s rise in the poll can be attributed to Democratic voters getting to know him.

The popularity of Sen. Sanders is spreading to all parts of the country. Bernie Sanders is a national candidate with a national base of support. The media still has a tendency to treat Sanders like he is a bit of a novelty, but beyond presidential primary politics, there is a real movement building that will continue long after the contest for the Democratic nomination has been decided.

If you can't handle a little debate and challenges to your ideas and assertions, you really won't be ready for the campaign.

And trust me, if your guy makes it to the nomination, Republicans hit a lot harder than Hillary's people do.

you have an open mind about switching to Bernie. But my time is mainly spent on activities that further his nomination effort. No point in us talking past each other.

The issues that Sanders raises are going to seized upon by the press. It will be the Clinton platform vs. the Sanders platform.

This is unlike the days leading up to the primaries of 2007. This type of ground favors the Sanders campaign, their message is more salient and effective when not obfuscated by extraneous noise.

With only two dishes on the menu, people will zero in on the ingredients.

P.S. If Sanders is the only challenger running an insurgency against HRC's establishment style campaign, then this will help a lot in gathering donations from rank and file Democrats. There's also a psychological element to this. With several insurgent candidates it's easier to think of one's donation possibly amounting to very little.

But with only one insurgent, that campaign becomes "The Rebel Alliance" (like in Star Wars), and every donation will in fact help fund a direct challenge to the establishment.

Not comparing the other campaign to The Dark Side. Darth Cheney and company have dibs on that.

When I pick a candidate I actually like to hear their stump speeches. With Bernie that has not been any problem finding video of his path to the White House. He is visible to the voters and the press too. I think that is important.

It's the campaign speech they give when they are running for office. If so-and-so is having a rally or a caucus, you would go there and listen to their speech which would give you an idea of what they are for or against. I hope that helps.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stump_speech_(politics)

A political stump speech is a standard speech used by a politician running for office.[1]

The term is derived from the custom in the 19th century in America when political candidates campaigning from town to town stood upon a cut down tree's stump to deliver a standard speech.[2] Because the busy pace of campaigning often forces candidates to address people several times per week or even per day, the candidate and his or her staff will usually write a single speech to be delivered at most public appearances.[3]

The beginning of the speech is usually tweaked to include mentions of local elected officials and campaign staff, with local references sometimes peppered throughout, but most of the speech remains identical from day to day. The need for a stump speech stems from a desire to keep candidates focused on their message and to consistently present certain arguments or point out certain aspects of their political platform. Candidates will often use major events to unveil a new or substantially revised stump speech.

No doubt about it. People will tire of Hillary's hide and go seek campaign and just go for the person that doesn't seem to be lying. Why not?
