(24,772 posts)1. Well you got mine, Bernie
and I am DEF not a big money interest!
However this plays out, it's awesome to have you in the discussion and debate. To bring our issues forward and give them the attention they so desperately need and deserve. Really appreciate you stepping up to the plate.
I support your platform, and will thereby be donating to the cause as resources allow.

(9,126 posts)3. That is extremely important
I was told yesterday that "Bernie can't win" because he can't raise lots of money. I replied that Obama ran as a liberal and won both times. I am going to quote the response but not link as a callout
"Barack Obama may have run like a liberal but he also ran as a mainstream politician. He secured financial and political commitments before announcing, and raised large amounts of money."
I think this is very important to explain to all of those who were disappointed in the race to the right once Obama entered the White House. I know many people who worked for OFA who felt betrayed and might be once bitten, twice shy to support a candidate with their hearts and mind again. We have to see that this is a different campaign. That without the "financial and political commitments" Bernie, if he wins, will be able to fulfill his campaign promises. We won't be scratching our heads trying to figure out why the hell he's doing something when it's the exact opposite of his campaign speech. He won't need to pay back anyone but the people who got him elected. So we need to work to make that happen.
This is the time that we need to prove that it is the PEOPLE not the corporations (who are NOT people) are still in charge in this country. That is what this election will be about.
