You know how many times one party has held the presidency for more than 8 years since Truman replaced FDR? Once.

One time in 65 fucking years, when Poppy Bush succeeded Reagan for a single term. Frankly, the reason Bill won was because Perot siphoned off more disgruntled GOP than Dems. American just tends to flip back and forth between the parties. It's what we do.

The only reason Clinton had a chance this time was because Trump is just so awful. If she had been running against Cruz or Kasich they would have mopped the floor with her.

Did Sanders have a better chance of beating Trump? Maybe. Julian Assange wasn't out to get him, but I think Putin still wanted Trump, so Bernie may have still lost.

But it was always going to be hard.
