The admins have made the rules clear as to what direction discussion on this board will be allowed to take beginning on the 16th.
Edited out the guidelines, like Skinner says. You take your chances.

And he wasn't kidding.
Is that the road the Democratic Party wants to take?

(12,471 posts)Just as I have firm plans to permanently leave the country in a year when I retire, I shall leave here.
America is not what it used to be even 30 years ago. In a lot of ways it has gotten more harsh, and authoritarian. If that's what people want, so be it. I do not want it, so I shall leave.

(12,471 posts)do you require payment for "special privileges?" This is what we have here. The more money you give, the better access you get. That being said, I feel that I am a paying member, not a guest.

(32,324 posts)When both Fate and the Public put the Admins into a situation wherein they are forced to realize not everyone's head can be cut off?
"We hosts have decided that as of today we will no longer allow discussion or complaints in this group of what goes on with other groups of this board or about other candidates supporters."
I guess treasonous statements like poisoning Bernie's food is ok at the other side, but talking about Hillary's record here is not!? Pathetic.

(27 posts)Hey folks...
I stopped coming to this site quite a while ago but word is out about the new rules here and that some of you may choose to leave as a result. We faced the same dilemma at DKos and many of us chose to move on and start a new site where we weren't so constrained by Democratic Party loyalties and edicts. In other words, places where we could actually spread our wings and be un-apologetically progressive.
Feel free to join us Kossacks for Bernie at our new hangout on Reddit if you like. There are also people in our group willing to help you start your own sub-reddit if you'd rather do that. Please spread the word to the Bernie supporters on here as it doesn't look like too many will see this thread.

(16,380 posts)Not sure why the venom is being directed at Autumn. There are other groups on this boatd that have become nothing more than nasty meta club houses providing a forum for their members to spew smack about other DUers. It's ugly and we have always tried to discourage that.
Now she simply clarifying that. So chill please.

(6,409 posts)Bernie Sanders accomplished a great deal, and his candidacy represents an opportunity to do something positive, something to reclaim what's left of the Democratic Party. We will accomplish nothing by getting upset at all the gloating and baiting coming from (ahem) "some other groups." I'm pretty sure Bernie wants us to continue to work for progressive activity in the Democratic Party, as well as in other venues. What others say in their groups about Bernie and what he represents is (mostly) of no interest, and should be ignored.

(212 posts)Let me ask. I'm voting in Jersey (Morris County) and this will be the first time I'm writing in. Do I just write in "Bernie Sanders" or "Bernard Sanders (Vermont)" or some variation?

(18,837 posts)A month ago, I had four people on my ignore list. Right now, I probably have 100.
I've also been clicking "hide thread" like never before.
The "I can't wait for Monday" meme is popping up in pretty much every thread that isn't 100% pro-Clinton.
One Clinton supporter, who shall remain anonymous, posted that they "have to get to 1000 posts before Monday so they can be on a jury." It doesn't matter that posts will clearly have to violate the TOS. Based on what I am seeing, my guess is that Monday will be the most alert-happy single day in DU's history.
Any Sanders posts are going to have an automatic bulls eye painted on them, even if they follow the rules and don't promote him as "the nominee."
And even after I asked Skinner about "BernieBros" and all of the other garbage and he confirmed that disparaging posts about Sanders will not be allowed, nor will nicknames, I'm not expecting that to dry up and blow away tomorrow night at 11:59 PM.
I'm probably going to take a few days off starting Monday because I think the "new DU" will probably be significantly more than the average Sanders supporter will be able to handle.
It is what it is, folks. "Taking your chances" means a few ugly days, maybe weeks, until Skinner puts his foot down and reminds everyone that while Clinton may be the "presumptive nominee," what a lot of people are expecting isn't what he laid out at all.
