Today, MSNBC's Joy Reid Said NINA TURNER Would Make a Great Chair of the DNC.

MSNBC reporter Joy Reid made the brief remark about Nina Turner w/o any discussion this morning during the program she hosted covering many hot many campaign topics with several guests. I wonder if something is up, and whether there's anything going on about replacements for DWS.

In addition to Nina Turner's many appearances in the last year supporting the Sanders campaign, yesterday, Friday she talked about her background and entrance into politics as a special guest on both of Thom Hartmann's programs: the daily radio show and the evening The Big Picture.

personable and accomplished. Also upbeat, positive and courageous. When her mother died young at age 42, Nina the eldest helped her family of six brothers and sisters make it through. She'd be a terrific choice.

in the two-part Segment, "The Rise of Bernie and the Fall of the GOP", May 27.

Intro. on the Bernie v. Trump Debate drop. For tonight's Conversations with Great Minds - I'm joined by one of the progressive movement's highest profile rising stars. Nina Turner is a former Cleveland City Councilperson, an Ohio State Senator representing that state's 25th district, and served as the minority whip in the Ohio senate.
Right now, she travels the country as a spokesperson for the Bernie Sanders campaign for president. Even if he doesn't win the nomination - Bernie Sanders has still revolutionized American politics and inspired millions of young people to join the progressive movement. So why are so many people high-up in the Democratic Party so against what he wants to do?

Thom and Nina discuss her background and entry into politics, why she joined Sen. Sanders' campaign and what a political revolution means to her. Other issues: the need for election reform and fair voting; minimum wage increase and universal healthcare as a moral right; invest in young people, college education brings change and can help lift people out of poverty; Bernie's fight for racial and social justice; in the African American community there's barely a middle class anymore; Bernie and FDR, more.

MORE with Nina Turner at the *14:44 Min. mark. FULL SHOW, May 27, The Rise of Bernie and the Fall of the GOP.

Thom and Nina talk about Bernie's 5 slots at the Democratic Convention Committee, and more.

In the second half of Great Minds Thom discusses the Republican party with professor John Kenneth White, author of the book “What Happened to the Republican Party?: And What It Means for American Presidential Politics.”

like Turner, and also realize they have to make some changes and concessions to survive I think. Foremost the establishment knows the importance of millions of new Sanders supporters. 'Just business'.
My major concern is that Bernie continue to be regarded as the primary Agent of major change and is not sideswiped in the process. No mistake, Bernie winning this election is far more important to me than any appointments like this one, or Sherrod Brown as a possible VP for HC. Bernie's done the work, his tremendous efforts are unequaled, and there's no one even close to the energy and message he's put out in the last year.

you may need to turn on signature/profile text visibility

This is an issue which we need to address THIS WEEK or NEXT.

We need carve outs from the FTAS which are being set up to BLOCK affordable public health care and public education. Thats a trap which is being laid for us by people like HRC. We need to explicitly denounce the locking in of our country into bad policy.

this is the problem.. https://wikileaks.org/tisa/

it would be token.she would have little power.

the establishment wants us to all just shut up and ignore what they do and vote for them.

Sherrod brown as vp means nothing.this primary has shown his true colors.he is really with the establishment and corporate dems
like CLinton not the progressives.he chooce corporists over progressives.he even tried to say clinton is the same as Bernie on
issues.

centrist dems have shown what they think of bernie supporters.

another one flipping, a la Rachel. People do change of course, esp. when power and money are involved like in politics and work.
And now with 43% of the electorate identifying as Independent, the Dem. Party will only deteriorate further if they don't attract progressives. Corporate centrists like DWS, Boxer, Difi and even Jen Granholm who mocked Ben Jealous' slight stutter recently on a cable show are on the way out IMO. They must know that desire and plans for a separate progressive party exist.
For a while I thought Corey 'Mr. Private Equity' Booker was the party's rising star. Surprised he's been less visible than a few years ago and isn't being considered more as a VP choice. Some of the things he's done I like, he has talent but is friendly with banks and corps., like most.

would be an outstanding choice, but I also think that while Joy Reid meant what she said, she is also feeling a lot of heat for her undying support of HC with a lot of people. While she is free to support who she wishes, her reporting in general has never been favorable to Bernie. I miss Melissa Harris Perry, no idea who she supported and that is how it is supposed to be for journalists.

and is following the corporate Comcast establishment line which is not supportive to Bernie, don't we know. I also enjoyed MHP's program and topics very much and was sorry to see her leave like many others- Big Ed, The Cycle group including Krystal Ball who does support Bernie, Toure, and before them Dylan Ratigan, Martin Bashere, Cenk Ughur, Donahue et al.

I just posted in #17 the video of Nina and Thom's conversation last night.
And you probably saw that Melissa was on Bill Maher last night with the video is posted in V & M.
