New CBS, NYT Poll: Sanders 51, Trump 38; Clinton Lead Over Trump Narrows 47-41

- CBS, NYT Poll: Sanders 51, Trump 38; Clinton Lead Over Trump Narrows 47-41, released May 19, taken May 13-17.

Hillary’s support among Democratic primary voters went from 50% to 51% since the April poll and Bernie’s support remained steady at 44%.

The hypothetical head to head general election matchups.

Clinton 47%

Trump 41%

and

Sanders 51%

Trump 38%

Hillary’s lead over Trump went from 10 points in April to 6 points now. (Bernie’s lead over Trump grew). About half of Democrats said the party was united, the other half saying it was divided.

Notably a healthy majority of Democrats said that a “long race for the nomination will help the Democrats in November”. So those Democrats calling for Bernie to halt his campaign would seem to be a noisy minority.

No matter how many voters it loses them for good.

I've been posting that for months.

She tries to ignore Bernie now, but it's still focused on the Dem. nomination, not the general I agree.

Very strange, hard headedness or something. And it's perilous.

that they want to take down bernie more than they want the win.

they know a ge is not gonna happen for her. so their consolation prize is to destroy the guy who took away her coronation.

If HRC is the Dem nominee, Trump will win the White House. Guaranteed. I cannot believe the Democratic Party is cutting its own throat. I'm done.
