Bernie Supporters Are NOT Sheep

http://readersupportednews.org/opinion2/277-75/36939-focus-bernie-supporters-are-not-sheep

Both political parties are shrinking; both are owned by the billionaire class. 39% of Americans are not members of either the Democrat or Republican party, 32% are registered Democrats, and less than 30% are Republicans. The solution is political reform. It’s time for a Democracy movement in America and that is what the political revolution is for me. I don’t want to waste the momentum of the movement launched by Sanders and just fall into line and vote against the Republicans again. I want to be part of a real movement, not be a lamb that the Democrats can count on every four years.

The Democratic Party needs to earn my vote and the votes of millions of progressives who feel the party left us decades ago. What they don’t understand is that if Bernie dropped out tomorrow and told his supporters to support Hillary and just went back to being Bernie, the Senator from Vermont, his supporters would be devastated and feel like they had wasted the past year of their lives.

It’s not about Bernie, it’s about changing a rigged political and economic system. We are not going to just surrender and vote for Hillary or any Democrat. We want to go to Philadelphia and beyond and reform the Democratic Party and the political system.

Don’t get me wrong – the Sanders supporters who have been voting Democrat all their life will likely vote for Hillary, but the Independents and new voters energized by Sanders are not votes that the Democrats are entitled to.

I have been a lifelong Democrat and have voted D since I could vote in the 90's. If Hillary is the nominee, I wil not vote for her. I will not vote for Trump either. I am tired of being forced into voting for people who no longer share my values as a democrat. I am happy this primary has shown so many what the party leadership is really. They are a corporate lobbyist firm who have no interest in fighting for us.

I think the American people are finally waking up. We are deserve better than what is being forced on us. No more DINOs. Until we stop voting for the lesser of two evils, nothing will change.

The hrc supporters are authoritarian, and so they do NOT get this. Almost all of their arguments boil down to "I'm with her" - not her policies. And so they can easily ignore the wallstreet influence, wars, etc. Because "her".

It's a very similar theme with the GOP. It's about the person not the ideas - it's primarily an authoritarian mommy / daddy type of image.

Bernie coalesced a movement that was waiting to happen. He's a "strong attractor" - but he's not *the* movement. And as more and more people discover there are others just like them, who have the same ideas and hopes, that group gets stronger and stronger. And it's not going away just because Bernie Sanders doesn't win a rigged popularity contest.

These are exciting times. Weighty times, with the issues of economic, climate, war etc. But exciting to see people *really* waking up. And it will be a huge task to wrestle the power from the elite: as we are seeing they have the resources and are willing to get as dirty as it takes. I don't think we've seen anything yet....

I've spoken to more than a few lifelong Dems who don't like seeing what's become of their party. When Bernie said, "Enough is enough!" he tapped into a wellspring of anger and dismay that's been growing for years.

And I will resign from the Democratic Party in August, after I vote for Alan Grayson (against a DINO) in the Florida primary for Rubio's seat. "No party affiliation". My grandson registered as a Democrat so he could vote for Bernie, and he will be switching to non-affiliated, too.

Since Debbie Wasserman-DINO openly supports and campaigns for her GOP cronies down here in Florida, i figure being a Democrat does not mean what it used to mean. And I will act accordingly.

as lifelong dem I won't be voting for clinton.here In missouri all you have to do is during primarys say which ballet you want to
vote in.But,i intend if as expected clinton wins nomination at convention with super delegates draging her over I intend to declare
myself a Independent.

I haven't changed what i believe in at all.it's this primary has exposed the truth.Dems for most part don't believe in what they
claimed to,to voters.
