The best reason yet not to feed the trolls...

is because it's so funny watching them talk to each other when they can't engage enough opponents to keep their threads kicked. All those faux sage conversations liberally laced with bullshit. It's very much like those bad local TV ads along the lines of,

first person: "Where do you go to get the best deal on X? Joe's?"
second person: "Why yes, I always go to Joe's to get the best deal on X. They have the best deal on X!!"
third person: "Hey, did I hear you mention Joe's? They always have the best deal on X!"
Joe: "Come to Joe's, where we always have the best deal on X!"

It is funny that they think they can fling poo in one post and then sit with their pinkie sticking out the next.

I tried to read some of their threads during a fit of insomnia last night. Totally devoid of content.

Ah, the life of a paid troll.

And in all seriousness,

I tired responding twice to posts that I thought were from people actually trying to discuss things. I found that they don't know how to really respond to the personal. So if you talk about specific policy, her stance on the minimum wage or fracking they just engage in a game of 'prove water is wet,' in which they just keep moving goal posts so that they can get their post count up. My teabagger father does this with me. We'll be debating a topic, such as the Texas School Board and the control they have over schoolbooks, then when you point out that they want to put creationism into science books at first he doesn't believe you, then after you show him proof he's still somewhat suspect, because well, how do you know that Wikipediea isn't skewed? So you go further back to source papers and on and on it goes. When he finally does concede one point, he then starts in with the next one. So after four hours he'll say, "Okay, you've given me a lot to think about..." The difference is, he's my dad and I like to think that some of it sinks in and it counterbalances some of the crazy things he hears on right-wing radio.

But the other way they respond is more telling are the bait posts and responses. I just hit ignore on them, it's not like anything you say is going to make a bit of difference and it just gives them a little spark of warmth in the empty iron lump that they think is their soul.
