My son is half Arabic.
So to the Hillary fans who alerted on my thread for using a slur (that I'd never even heard of, btw): you're whack. In fact, I often criticize Hillary's position on the Middle East because my son is half-Palestinian and has relatives in many of the countries she has voted to/supported bombing.
I used the term, "sand-kisser" to describe people who have their heads so far in the sand that they're kissing it. It was a reference to OSTRICHES. And if the alerter had bothered to read the thread in question, they would have seen that explanation. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280195840#post14
I have heard the other "sand-'n-word'" slur, but never that one. I'll stick to "ostriches" from now on. Keeping one's head in the sand isn't a liberal attribute, but many of her supporters aren't liberal, anyway, so they're OK with it.
I hope the alerter feels pretty damn stupid now.

I'd honestly never heard of it as a slur, so I was glad to clarify.
But, then again, I don't around searching for the latest slur words, either. I asked my son and he'd never heard it, either. He's a 17 year old - and they're usually up on the latest slur words. 
I think someone was more pissed at the true content of the thread: that many of us don't plan to stay on here during the general election if Hillary is the nominee. Hey, I respect the TOS. This is Skinner's site and it's his rule. But, for now, we're still in primary mode since a nominee hasn't been named and can express our distrust of the front-runner.
If it is nature vs nurture, and all ostriches do it are you describing a trait or being speciest? Was George Page on nature one of the best narrators ever or just a massive speciest?
But more importantly it is wrong about the Ostriches...

If they were like people, they would vote for Hillary when they get scared...everyone I know in the south voted for her for that reason alone (they like Bernie, but were afraid he would lose...they are a timid voter in my home state).
