Progressives have never won in my lifetime, it's what we know. Cenk (The Young Turks) said it best, he was quoting someone else, I don't know who: "Progressives aren't supposed to win, they are supposed to lose gracefully." People my age (mid forties) and older are used to this, it's the same old thing every freaking election, settling. We are supposed to settle and be happy about it. It's what we know.

I think that's what may be happening there.

But I see the writing on the wall. Unless an extraordinary event like Hillary being indicted happens, Bernie is not going to be the nominee. I guess I came to terms with that last week after New York. I want him to stay in until the last votes but return to his positive message. If he does that I will consider donating again. But I don't see the point in deluding ourselves into thinking that he still has more than a miniscule chance. At this point, if I donate again it will be to keep his message out there, not because I expect an ROI on the investment in terms of him getting the nomination (which, to be honest, is how I felt the first time I donated).

That mind share doesn't matter to the campaign. I phone banked, and I canvassed, and I have my bumper stickers, and my Sanders shirts, button, and hat.

I donate money and I speak up for the campaign. Next to that what does the incessant sniping against Sanders amount to? Pffft!

It's always been mostly about getting people to think in a revolutionary new way. That contest has been an ongoing success, and it won't be defeated. The implications to that are numerous, and more will be unfolding.

I think we just need to work harder to overcome the 10% "rigged" factor. We can do it if we don't wait until the last minute to go after a state. We need to use every available minute. Really take all of our time and get out new voters and convince registered voters. The more Bernie is seen and talked about, the more he wins. NO DAYS OFF and no more pouting and licking our wounds.

We can still do this. I have to because I cannot vote for anyone else in NOvember.

(Another thread got locked before I could post this)

It represents a much needed affront to the sensibilities of several establishments.

Imo a lot of notice is being taken of how this is the campaign that won't die and go away. This is like the sentiment that is given to the Kennedys, and FDR and The New Deal.

Sanders is the party's only hope if the FBI report comes down hard on Clinton and her aides. Even Bill, with The Clinton Foundation, is under scrutiny.

Clinton's problems are self inflicted. And I'm reminded that Ted Kennedy primary challenged a sitting Democratic President.

Momentum built for Ted Kennedy after Carter's attempt to rescue the hostages on April 25 ended in disaster and drew further skepticism towards Carter's leadership ability.[8] Nevertheless, Carter was still able to maintain a substantial lead even after Kennedy swept the last batch of primaries, which took place mostly in southern and rural states, in June. Despite this, Kennedy refused to drop out, and the 1980 Democratic National Convention was one of the nastiest on record. On the penultimate day, Kennedy conceded the nomination and called for a more liberal party platform in what many saw as the best speech of his career. On the platform on the final day, Kennedy for the most part ignored Carter.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Kennedy#1980_presidential_campaign

Sanders has been a gentleman, even a pussycat. Clinton is just incredibly vulnerable and just listing her record can appear to be an attack.

I hope this group stays strong.

After tonight, if Bernie wins California 65-35 and every other remaining primary 60-40, he will still be about 50 pledged delegates short of Hillary going into the convention.

The only remaining hope is for the FBI to do its job and indict Hillary, and I think the chances of that are somewhere between slim and none.

Omar Mian? to Bernie Sanders Activists

So guys here is an honest look at what's ahead:
Indiana- Bernie victory
West Virginia- Bernie victory
Kentucky- Bernie victory
Oregon- HUGE Bernie victory (make her non-viable here)
Puerto Rico- I don’t know why the hell they get 67 delegates and are not even a state. Complete BS. This looks favorable to Hillary unfortunately
California- We are already tied and INDEPENDENTS can vote here! Goal is to run up the margins and start working from today onward!
Montana- Bernie victory
New Jersey- Independents can vote but will be a challenge
New Mexico- Looks like a challenge but we can make it close
North Dakota- Bernie victory
South Dakota- Bernie victory
D.C- Unfortunately looks like a Hillary victory
SO we should be able to win 9/12 of the next primaries if we keep supporting him.
My state of California is the prize and we need to start working there starting today in April!
We need to show the world that our movement is RESILIENT!
If we win these states we will deny Hillary the nomination and this goes to a contested convention!!
We've been counted out since day one and look how far we've come! And yes we've come too far and this is just too important to give up on now.
SO LETS DO THIS!!

but West Virginia and Kentucky will likely both go for Clinton. Clinton clobbered Obama in 2008 in both states. At the time it didn't matter much since Obama had a huge lead on Clinton. Also the same day Kentucky voted so did Oregon, which Obama won.

I'm basically so sick of the fraud that is going on I struggle to call what we are doing an election. I have enthusiastically supported Sanders for a year and will continue to support him, but I'm under no illusion that since this whole thing is fucking rigged it will be nearly impossible for him to pull it off at this point. I really hope he wins Oregon and California to sweep the west coast (the fuckin' best coast). I'm also under no illusion that if Clinton is the nominee he's not going to get shit at the convention. Clinton doesn't want unity, she wants to be rid of both Sanders and his supporters.

I also respect his wishes. I can do the math and I understand the long odds. But June is a ways away, and too early to say nothing can happen at all to make Bernie the nominee. Nothing hurts our chances in November by Bernie staying in. In fact, it may help by keeping the movement alive and influencing the convention.
