Although early voting is not available, Connecticut's closed primaries have same-day registration, which means that if an unaffiliated voter were to miss the deadline to register for an election, they could register and vote in person on the day of the primary.

(872 posts)It's closed, but it is not all that hard to change from unaffiliated to Dem. It seems a bit confusing about the deadlines for from Repub to Dem.

(21,210 posts)for millionaires and billionaires, but we make most of the "common folk" jump through three hoops to have a say.
Today I spoke with a nurse in Pa. her shift as a nurse on Tuesday happens to be 7-7:30 so she doubts she will have time. Last week a spoke with a NY transit employee, we spoke for almost 15 minutes (my longest call ever) he had bought a home north of the city in 2005. We know 2005 was at the height of the housing bubble, between work and a doctor's appointment he doubted he would have time to vote.
The Dems, if they truly were interested in all votes, should be doing more to make people aware of the deadlines in each state. Still it should not be this hard!!!

(35,685 posts)How is it that a candidate can go from state to state drawing thousands upon thousands of people, yet be "second?"
How is it that the candidate who can barely roust up 400 people is the leading candidate? How is that?
Somebody 'splain.

UNLESS you consider that the entire election system is not supportive of any honest candidate, as it does NOT fit into the math model as set forth by the corporations.
