Related: About this forumGuess you shoulda released those transcripts Hillary....
Edit to add Watch her try to blame Bernie for this. It's not Bernie's fault! Bernie has asked her repeatedly to release those transcripts for months. She is the one that refused....
And - it is her campaign that wants Bernie out of the race. Well here ya go Hillary... here is your preview of what's to come.

(5,902 posts)You might remember the flap about her "sitting at home, baking cookies" comment in the Summer of '92. It was the good people at Better Homes and Gardens that had the perspicacity to hake a few headlines for themselves by asking the spouses of all three major candidates to contribute their favorite cookie recipes.
Hillary, of course, gladly complied - as did Barbara Bush (Margot Perot declined). And after all these years I still happen to have the recipes, tucked away in a Paul Newman cookbook my mom gave me when I went to school. I really don't know what for, seeing as even my dog won't touch anything I make (thank goodness for Trader Joe's, right?).
Anyway, here it is if you're interested. Hillary's 1992 oatmeal cookie recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
*1 ½ cups unsifted, unbleached all-purpose flour
*1 tsp. salt
*1 tsp. baking soda
*1 cup shortening
*1 cup light brown sugar
*½ cup sugar
*1 tbsp. vanilla extract
*2 eggs
*2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
*12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips (I prefer raisins)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease baking sheets with butter.
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in large bowl. Set aside.
Beat together shortening, sugars, and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop batter by well-rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until golden.
Cool cookies on sheets on wire rack for 2 minutes, then put cookies directly on rack to cool.
Makes 90 cookies.
P/S: I also have Barbara Bush's recipe if you'd like.
Could use a couple more though most of the time I'm making ruffles potato chip cookies.

(5,902 posts)You know, one can eat almost anything (barring a medical condition, of course) as long as it's not too close to bedtime - which is easier said than done sometimes.
That said, here it is. Barbara Bush's 1992 chocolate chip cookies:
Ingredients:
*1 cup, 2 tbsps. sifted, unbleached all-purpose flour
*½ tsp. salt
*½ tsp. baking soda
*½ cup butter, softened
*½ cup light brown sugar
*⅓ cup sugar
*1 egg
*1 tbsp. very hot water
*1 tsp. vanilla extract
*1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°. Grease baking sheets with butter.
Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda onto waxed paper. Set aside.
Beat butter, sugars, and egg in a large bowl until fluffy - about 3 minutes. Beat in hot water and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture until blended and smooth. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by well-rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until golden.
Cool cookies on sheets on wire rack for 1 minute, then put cookies directly on rack to cool.
Makes 36 cookies.
These are, as one would expect, more traditional cookies. The two big differences, of course, being that Mrs. Bush's use no oatmeal, and are made with butter rather than shortening - which makes them the winners in my book. Then again, oatmeal makes Hillary's recipe the healthier one.
But when it comes to this, I say be bipartisan. Go all out and enjoy them both!

(5,902 posts)I've become something of a pack rat over the years; you just never know when you'll need something, no matter how trivial it may seem at the time.
As for your jaded feelings toward DU, I hear you. Personally, I like the give-and-take - and above all, finding out about something meaningful from someone who took the trouble to look for it and, of course, post it. You take the good with the bad, I guess.
Tell me: if there was anything you could change about DU, what would be at the top of the list?

(3,040 posts)Look at how awful the remaining 2 (ETA: viable) GOP candidates are. Either one will use their free air time along with paid ads to spew ever lie and negative truth about Hillary and the Clintons. No news outlets would question a candidate in the GE about the veracity of what is said because they would be afraid to lose access . So, expect every crazy breitbart batshit crazy story to be reported as true by all the major media networks.
Think about it, when a person actually questions one of the two on the truth of the lie they are saying, it is major news because that never happens. And, no one wants to be the person that loses access to the GOP candidate in the GE, so expect utter neutrality in their reporting.

Posting republican attack ads on DU is over the top; I just hope the jury agrees

Someone might run an attack ad against Hillary.
I think it's more that the truth hurts.

(5,400 posts)It's the "Sanders Answer" video. I'd post it here but .... maybe not a good precedent for this group?

(39,451 posts)I imagine that will be the mildest ad they run against Bernie if we're lucky enough to have him as a nominee.

(5,400 posts)They don't go after his integrity, they just question his proposals feasibility.
Lol, a different group will handle the truly vile stuff, maybe. Brock might be up for it.
Woops, belated Rec!

I was sitting thinking -Hello??? You better get used to this if she is the nominee.
Trump has already said he will bring this up often.
Instead of dealing with the transcripts, she is hiding from them wishing them away.
Instead of being prepared for Monica attacks, they attack the messenger instead of deal with it head on.
Grow a spine Camp Hillary. Hiding from the past is not going to work, esp when she has such high negatives.
