(1,166 posts)it was "hijacked" and turned around against Hillary. (Basically a hashtag used by people sneering at Bernie Sanders' trip to Rome.)

The Pope and Bernie had a brief talk as the bishop (wink wink) predicted beforehand they would and both of them want to make clear that the Pope is not meddling in US politics by favoring Bernie. That's the reality of the situation and all the rest of the noise is bullshit, as usual.

DEMOCRATS flinging poo at someone who took off critical days from a campaign that is critical to him personally to participate in a Vatican conference about peace and poverty. How do people stand look in the mirror?

In olden times of manners, that would be called "the cut direct."

(14,177 posts)I think Bernie is an inkblot test. Whatever, is inside a person is what they project on Bernie. Maybe inkblot isn't the right term. But, he seems to be a mirror of some kind. He seems to bring out people's most dominant traits the good or the bad. I haven't seen anything like it in my lifetime.

(14,691 posts)I'd suggest he's a warm poultice that draws out the pus in an infection- but when this is all over the pus will still be in them.

(14,177 posts)I was thinking along the lines of when people say if you see a bad thing in a person it's a recognition of that in yourself. I don't believe in that theory because I am pretty sure a lot of people can see the bad in a violent criminal without being the same way. However, I do believe in a kind of projection I suppose where you think other people have your worst traits or your best traits. But this seems to be even beyond that so I have no name for it. I guess I am stuck at projection, but it's really not capturing the nuances that I am seeing.

(14,177 posts)Thank you. I still find it weird that all this hate is directed at Bernie when 10 months ago no one would have said a bad thing about him.
