BREAKING - There’s a yuge motion passing through NY Assembly right now!

It would drastically change voting on April 19th

There is a long-shot bill currently passing through the NY Assembly that could be of huge importance to the upcoming primary on April 19th.

The bill (Assembly Bill A9661) is concerned with making New York an open primary. If passed, it would allow those who are registered to vote, but who are unaffiliated, to vote next Tuesday.

It is highly unlikely that this bill will be passed before the April 19th Primary in New York, as bills usually take longer to process. It has to pass through the House, the New York Senate, and the Governor has to sign it.

It would most likely help Bernie Sanders as he has polled well so far with independent voters.

NY is bought and paid for by Hillary Coattails. We need real progressives to come out on the 19th and tell them what they can do with their money and Hillary.

it's the Senate and Assembly. Senate is currently Repug majority and Assembly is Dem. majority.

The NY Assembly is majority Democratic, however, the Senate is a majority between the RepubliCONs, and a small group of about a half dozen "Democrats" who call themselves the Independent Democratic Conference. These turncoats caucus with the RepubliCLOWNs.

"The New York State Legislature is bicameral and consists of the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly. The Assembly consists of 150 members; the Senate varies in its number of members, but currently has 63.[4] The Assembly is headed by the Speaker; the Senate is headed by the President, a post held ex officio by the Lieutenant Governor, who only has a tie-breaking "casting vote", but more often it is presided over by the Temporary President or by a senator of the Majority Leader's choosing."

5. Wouldn't this be great to undo the voter registration tampering against Sanders.

But I agree the Establishment is a tough nut to crack. That's why the Sanders supporters are working hard to overcome the wealth of those that support the status quo.

Whether they know it or not, "Independents" in NY are actually members of the Independence party.

No party

So, afaik, this would only be for "No party" voters.
