Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI've been reading HRC group posts....
I am in the HRC group just to see what they post. I was just there and I saw a lot of 'Bernie this' 'Bernie that'. In contrast, the Bernie group is primarily reporting on Bernie's campaign.
I also mostly see Bernie posts on the main home page.
Just noticing.

(5,141 posts)That's a huge amount of banned people, which just seems irrational. Is the moderator on that board actually Hillary herself?
Equinox Moon
(6,344 posts)...the banned number count is higher because there are more Bernie supporters here on DU.
dorkzilla
(5,141 posts)from all I've read a great number of the posts that resulted in banishment were innocuous; it sounds like the ban hammer is a result of intolerance more than anything. I think the moderator (maybe it's not Hillary. Bill seems pretty intolerant these days so it could be him) just looks to see if the commentator's favorite group is Bernie then WHAM, gone.

(4,667 posts)that's my best explanation. Narcissists tend to gravitate to other narcissistic people.
At this point, I just pray she doesn't win, we will lose if he is nominated. There just won't be any joy and we will lose.
Maybe that's what they want? Rather that than have somebody who doesn't want their precious sellout trade deals.

Probably the only reason they haven't accomplished that is that a fair number of posters have already trashed that group.

(1,178 posts)They ban anyone who asks a question or provides information that may not agree with their agenda, which is apparently:
Hillary is perfect
Anyone who suggests otherwise is sexist
All of her views are the most progressive ever and
any discussion of what, precisely, they are is sexist
She has the most experience and any discussion of what she actually did is sexist
It is their safe zone.

(6,960 posts)... is that this is how the Clinton campaign will behave if we are so unfortunate to have her as the presidential nominee.
The Clinton campaign is all about HER! ... it isn't about issues, it isn't about helping poor folks, it isn't about making government work for working folks, etc.
The arrogance and intolerance seen in the HRC Group that is intolerant of diversity and debate will manifest itself in a Clinton campaign that will foremost be about screaming sexist and misogynist at any and all who oppose HER!
And this is why even with ridiculous candidates like Cruz or Trump, Clinton could and probably will lose the White House. The ugliness of the general election campaign will drive down voter participation so much that the reactionary-right will have the chance to triumph.
So, here on DU the machinations of the HRC Group and the more fanatical HRC supporters may seem incidental to the larger political culture, but in my estimation it is actually indicative of exactly how the Clinton operation works and will behave in the future.

Their whining is inappropriate when its just whining but also we should think of it a a cry for help from their wounded minds.

(4,667 posts)We have to look ahead a few years to when there are going to be a lot fewer jobs. A LOT fewer jobs. People who do not work with science consistently underestimate the rate of change.
So we have to take care of the weak or we're going to have a major disaster, soon. The policies that the Clintons thought were okay in the 90s are profoundly wrong now. In areas like health care finance and higher education, we're in mortal danger - we are being intentionally locked into them.
That is at the core of why we need to discuss them, and not by proxy, (what Bernie is doing, despite the fact that Hillary is getting to lie extensively about the reasons for things, he should speak up- why he doesnt- he must be a saint, literally) people need the awful truth.

(6,344 posts)The HRC group on DU is a representation of the masses. So is the Bernie group, for that matter.
I am concerned for our country with how the National campaigns run - primary's and general. The world is watching. The unbelievable dis-honor of people, issues, and the position of President in the White House. It shames us all. It shows the immaturity of American's.
Truly, Europeans are more emotionally mature than Americans, for example.

Why do you know any more? These kinds of sites are not very resource intensive, you likely could run one off of a Raspberry Pi or similar. Not a lot of graphics or anything resource intensive. You would be surprised how much traffic any old computer running Linux will serve. Once you get up into large multicore machines you could likely serve a large commercial site off of one.
Back in the day, such hardware was really expensive, not any more.
