(41,140 posts)Poor Rep. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Clinton surrogate who said last summer Bernie is 'a Soshialist!' but didn't know why when asked by the media, was just on saying she's concerned and hopes both the Dem. candidates and their sides pull together. Don't know about that with Hill's recent, same ugly smears and corp. media spin we saw she and Bill used against Obama in 2008. It's pure mendacity and desperation that has consequences...

(3,017 posts)Setting aside the conservative stances that Hochula former U.S. congresswoman representing Buffalo and Niagara Fallshas taken on Obamacare, gun control, and the treatment of undocumented aliens, de Blasio appeared with her outside City Hall and declared her a true progressive. He did radio ads and made robo-calls on Hochuls behalf. And, according to some accounts, he went further than that. Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio used threats and intimidation in recent days to block prominent Democrats from backing Teachout and Wu, Fred Dicker, the New York Post s veteran Albany columnist, reported. City Council members and state legislators were warned that, if they publicly endorsed Teachout and Wu, projects they support could be endangered, Dicker wrote.
As expected, the insurgency was ultimately defeated. In the race for lieutenant governor, de Blasios intervention may have been decisive. At one point last week, Wus internal polling showed him edging ahead. After the Mayors endorsement of Hochul, sentiment turned in her favor, particularly downstate.

(41,140 posts)here about NY state antics to suppress insurgent candidates by him and Cuomo who's barely a Dem., and you, it seems quite plausible that de Blasio is Hill shilling in hopes of another job. How bad is de Blasio?
Wondered why I hadn't seen or heard from him in a long while until these recent media appearances. Makes sense and what a disappointment he must be for NYC.
When Chris Cuomo offered Bernie a glass of water at a CNN Town Hall saying, "Have some water, it's free", it said a lot and raised eyebrows here I know. Still I'm hoping Bernie does very well in New York, a wonderful state I know fairly well from family living there and visiting often.
