Related: About this forumUgh, Stephanie Miller
She's in full on Bernie attack mode. From Bernie's tone to the NY Daily News interview. Then she says, "I really love the guy"
I need to lower my blood pressure by not listening to her or maybe she needs to have Nomiki Konst on to educate her.

(41,132 posts)Rachel's consistent, snooze mono themes and recent turn to total corporate. With a $7Mill salary it is what it is.
Stephanie seems bored and restless with the 3-hr. radio show on FSTV for some time and rudely slams the phone down on regular folks and Bernie supporters even if they're friends or reasonable.
And the bit, 'Dad (Herb Miller) was a Republican ticketed as VP with Goldwater' is tiresome. Last summer she played up big expectations before attending a Clinton event but then reported she fell down there and said no more about it.
For a while last year Steph also appeared irregularly on CNN as a commenter and might want a steadier gig in corp. media a la Clinton. After the Sexy Liberal Tour which she seems to like maybe she'll try for a spot on Fox, as in comedian (?) Dennis Miller like one DUer said.

(19,089 posts)I don't drive anymore (pure public transit now), so I don't listen to the radio ... Where does one find Stephanie Miller on the radio dial? ...
I was speaking to Viva a few days ago about the Potluck for Bernie event ... It would be great to cobble together a quick little potluck in PDX ...
Something to think about - I'm game ...

(23,664 posts)At least half of every show seems to be a plug for her dumbass "sexy liberal" show.
Jim the voice guy is good but most of the regulars on the show are meh at best. When you have the mute button on for half of a talk show it's probably time to turn it off.
It used to be funny before it sucked.

(9,704 posts)I saw her a couple f years ago when she was on tour promoting her book. (She was pretty awful, BTW.) Afterward, I saw her and told her I had first heard of her at Democratic Underground. She was very dismissive and kept saying, "Who? What is that?" I tried to explain DU. She just looked at me like I was from Mars. Then I said, "You don't know democratic underground?" She paused like she realized she should maybe know them and then said, "oh, yeah, right. I love those guys." And turned away. Obviously, lying through her teeth. My friends thought so too. It was just a weird encounter.

(41,132 posts)the 3-hr. gig and it shows. She can be tricky, blunt and pretty nasty like when the new FSTV calendar was coming out last fall as a fundraising gift I won't forget her saying, 'And there's a picture in it of Amy Goodman in a bathing suit!', snicker, snicker. The stunned look on the crew's face was lasting. Some fan and team player. Not, and not really progressive or a good person (or funny) to me. I tried but am Done. Some of the crew are talented & enjoyable though.

First he was a Hillary supporter, then Bernie and then back to Hillary.
He says Bernie should never have called himself a democratic socialist.

(166 posts)I turned the show on this morning and heard her doing her whole, "Why is Bernie being so mean to Hillary?" I just couldn't take it and shut it off after about a minute. I found that listening to music on Pandora was a much more relaxing and led to me yelling at my computer a lot less.
I was planning on tuning in after the primaries are over, but I've just been so disgusted by her during these primaries that I think I'm done with her show. I'm just glad I've still got Thom Hartmann in the afternoons to look forward to.

Bill! How could you????
Bill, who is the godfather of the whole Bernie campaign and one of his greatest defenders in the media, is on a book tour and his lackluster producer brought on some right wing friend of his who is....get this....an HRC follower. Yes!!!
I almost wet the bed! - sitting in Bill's chair (!) - he begins the show with a full throated attack on Bernie and the qualification thing and producer boy nodding and agreeing eagerly. The latter actually used the passe canard saying Bernie " jumped the shark."
This dude in Bill's chair would fit in beautifully next to Brock as he is associated or was with that vile rag, BNR.
I was gobsmacked and I'm 99% sure I will never listen to Bill again.

(14,195 posts)Her show once Cville got its progressive station but... meh. Average to just plain dumb, and the attempts at humor ar usually pitiful. Now I just flip to BBc or NPR if I'm in the car during her show.
Peregrine Took
(7,413 posts)She has a really mean side to her.
Its come out a few times in the past - once there was a nasty fight with a belligerent caller who was being really mean to John and SM just let him spin in the wind and take the verbal beat down.
He told her (SM) off after she, mercifully, ended the call.

(9,933 posts)But her show was taken off the radio in LA a few years ago and haven't listened since. She was not really an FDR democrat...which I'm sorry is the only true democrat. There are far far too many Republican lites posing as democrats. I get it. Republicans are crazy town and if you're a halfway decent person who doesn't want to oppress women, minorities and the LGBT community and kick poor people while they're down then there's only the democratic party. Actually, there is only the democratic party. That's why the primaries are the real election. We need a new party to the left of the democratic party which has shifted right as the republican party has fallen apart and become a sad sick joke.

(39,451 posts)They have gotten together and appeared on each other's shows on several occasions to promote unity because they both agree that we must vote for a Dem in November.
I listen to Thom religiously.
He will not let his callers call in and bash Hillary to the point where he will take Hillary's side saying that she is a good progressive. It is maddening to me as a die hard Bernie supporter because I want him to unleash on her - lol.
And when I do tune into Stephanie occasionally, she is always going after Bernie - in the way that I wish Thom was going after Hillary. Then she has guests on that agree with her & they have their own little Bash Bernie fest.
Thom walks the walk.
Stephanie doesn't.

(61,695 posts)But it's too serious right now. If she would stick to making fun of Cruz, Thrump, and Kasick, and other idiot Republucans, her show would be better.

(1,511 posts)I listen to FSTV since I can stream from work. Democracy now is nice, and Tom can talk about the news, but to a new listener to her show she is incredibly defensive and goes on about Bernie Bros constantly. But what bugs me more is it seems like a bad rip off of Howard Stern, just bad sound effects, low humor jokes, attacks on republicans that even embarrass me. I had started looking for previously recorded shows during her time slot by other people on FSTV more and more often, still have not figured out one if I do give up on her.
Today she got a caller from an older black female that attacked Bernie and then went on to attack Hillary for the things she said about Obama...Steph got annoyed, and then when she ended the call said in a very dismissive ton that she "had no clue what that was all about". It was the moment I switched from her show today. Good to know I am not the only one getting annoyed by her.
Oh noticed Tom yesterday was actually finally defending the Bernie or Bust movement realizing that one reason it was growing was how people were tired of just having their views ignored and being told they will vote for the Hillary or they are a whole list of things. He also pointed out that many were the independents, I was a bit amazed it took him that long to realize it, but it was nice that he wast trying to reach out to that group.
noamnety
(20,234 posts)so it's been about a decade since I listened to her. I remember her as being like a frat boy - doing humor that was sexist, homophobic ... her humor is something I tend to associate with republicans. Sort of trump-like, actually.

(1 post)Even after the election on the eve of Trumps first 100 days she still continues to bash Bernie. Blaming him for Hillary's loss. This kind of crap just keeps dividing the party and will do nothing but keep the republicons in office in 2018. I'm done listening to her besides her stuff is old and tired.
