Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumWasn't The Time To Question Whether Bernie Is A Dem Or Not....
back when he was throwing his hat in the ring to run in the primaries. If they didn't think he was a Dem - why did they let him run in the Dem primaries? Why is DWS half heartedly working with him and complementing both candidates as being good Dems and running a better race than the Repugs? Hillary didn't contest Bernie running as a Dem back at the start and now she is attacking him as not being a Dem. So bottom line it is her own fault that she has to deal with Bernie today. She was deluded to think she was going to be coronated and now that Bernie is threatening her and she is frustrated and desperate - she decided to launch a 'scorched earth' strategy to take him out. Sorry Hillary - too little too late. You have Bernie being in this all the way till the convention - deal with it.

(45,251 posts)welcomed "converted" Republicans like Crist, Chaffee and Specter, with open arms. They have also converted Republicans to run for them as Democrats, like Senator Webb.
Their problem is not that Sanders is not a Democrat. Their problem is......

(41,171 posts)people when this surfaced recently here and in the Clinton campaign since Sanders has been gaining substantially. Bernie's stances have been known for decades, including his essential support, caucusing and voting with Democrats in the Congress. The sudden objection, fugetaboutit.

This will obviously be a part of that attack front.

(8,352 posts)But I am sure we will soon find out. She has already tried to associate Sandy Hook with Sanders, so really there is no low too low for Clinton to go to in order to win at any and all costs.

(8,352 posts)very vocal Clinton supporters who preach this line of bullshit.
None have given me a cogent and direct answer. They can only spin, lie, distort, and obfuscate.

(5,506 posts)It's a long list, so I won't waste the space, nor time, listing all the ways. Y'all know them.
Talk about desperation eating a cracker! Scraping the bottom of the barrel on smear topics. SMDH
She just keeps putting more nails in her coffin w/these tactics. So obvious!

If those corrupt assholes want to play it that way, let's take the gloves off and have at it.

(20,234 posts)I suspect they underestimated how much the public is sick to death of not just "The Establishment" and Wall Street policies - but also the sense of entitlement the Bushes and Clintons together seemed to have, the idea that the two family dynasties would take turns running the country for generations.
With the idea that she was "her turn" (to be followed by Jeb's turn, then Chelsea's turn, or so it seemed at the start of the season) - came the miscalculation that of course she would get the democratic nomination.
I believe the campaign thought the only real threat was a third party spoiler, so they welcomed Bernie in thinking he would be out after the first few states - and they wouldn't have the third party threat. When he didn't walk away after the first couple losses, we could see the hillary supporters getting more and more insistent that he had to leave now. NOW. REALLY NOW. And I'm sure that was a point people were getting paid to post - the coordination and messaging was too consistent for it to be coincidence.
The scorched earth reaction now is probably because the first wave of pressure to drop out was a failure, the second wave (various websites setting deadlines to purge Bernie supporters mid march) was a failure, and now they are backed into a corner and don't have a strategy.

(14,255 posts)ya know, and then cheerfully hand over his supporters and any money he raised to Hillary.
Obviously these people never fucking ONCE thought about the issues, or they would have known that Hillary is not a workable substitute for Bernie, for people who care about the issues. Must be quite the shock.
The young people I know would not have bothered at all with politics, if not for Bernie. And there will be no transfer of enthusiasm, money, and votes to Madam Third Way Neocon Warhawk. They consider her SOS - same old shit - and see no reason to vote for that. And - she pretty much agrees with them on the SOS thing. Plus, they check all shit out on the internet. ALL of it. No blind allegiance, they did not buy tickets to the old kabuki play.
