Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI have an announcement. .
I'm not leaving the group! I'm going to post about the presidential primary here and in GD-P whenever I feel like it. I'm not going to take the bait from people who are just detractors of truth and enjoy trying to upset people. I am not going to have a meltdown if someone here is mean to me.
I am going to support Senator Bernie Sanders in his bid for the nomination for the presidency. When he wins the nomination, I will continue that support for him in the general election. I am not just going to spread truth about Senator Sanders and his lifelong, continuous, consistent work for what is good, right and true, I will also expose the truth about the other contenders that are not fighting for the average American, for the end of the corporatocracy we have become.
I will fight the inequities in pay between C class and the workers that create those profits, between men and women, between people of color and white people. I will speak out against the too big to fail banks and the corporate thieves taking pensions and pay.
I will fight for LGBT, women, minorities. I will champion for human rights, which includes; the end to torture in our prisons, abolishment of the death penalty, stopping incarceration of so many, for so long, because of the color of their skin. I will push for laws that will help end the outright murder of black men and women and the mentally ill by law enforcement officers; for laws to end the impunity these law enforcement officers enjoy because of prosecutors that are cowards or use the current law as a weapon against justice. I will fight for the end of endless war and drone murders of innocent people, including children, by our country under the guise of peace.
I will bitch, moan and complain about the illegal spying on US citizens by our government. I will stand against the sharing of the information gained by this illegal spying with corporations for profit. I will support Occupy and stand with the whistle blowers wrongly incarcerated or sent into exile.
I will do this by spreading facts here and elsewhere, by protesting, by writing and meeting with elected officials, by donating to election campaigns and groups when I can and by voting.
And fuck anyone that doesn't like it.

We are suppose to post in General Discussion: Primaries
I don't want you to accidentally get caught in the hornet's nest.

(17,997 posts)I have seen GD-P mentioned but I honestly haven't seen the link for it. I thought it was still being discussed.
I will definitely be careful with that. Thank you!

(13,110 posts)It is listed under the heading Main at the top left corner.
It is right under General Discussion.
Hope that helps.

Those are no longer allowed. If they show up and aren't self deleted, they'll be locked. We don't want anyone to leave but those posts only cause problems.

(62,325 posts)I can find. It's a big internet now, with lots of microphones to use.
And in RL, hopefully with local house parties etc and maybe pushing some musicians and other performers to do big concerts for Bernie.
He has some fans in the entertainment world, I'm sure they would love to help him out.
Bouncing along with you

(62,325 posts)Bernie was right all those years ago when he stood up for Gay Marriage, for all the right reasons.
He must feel very happy, and vindicated by today's ruling.
marym625
(17,997 posts)Because he stood for marriage equality, here forward know as marriage!

(84,711 posts)He worked really hard for Obama. I think he even gave a free concert in NYC for him. But, then he's been quiet about him, since.
He can get the crowds and his concerts in Europe had huge attendance also.
I think he might be feeling disillusioned at this point but biding his time to see how Bernie does...
I'm a huge Brucie fan. His own songs about the decline of American Manufacturing and his "Seeger Sessions" Album are the issues Bernie is addressing.
Fingers Crossed...because he'd give huge energy to the "Campaign for the People." His concerts attract all ages.

And in the meantime, let us all keep focused on the issues. Let the candidate who most closely represents our broad interests as Americans win!
That would be Bernie...

This was not aimed at you. You are not the only person that has said they are leaving because of people not responding how you want them to.

(26,449 posts)In the thread with your second link, on the 14th you say your not coming back here.
I for one am tired of the drama that swirls around you in this group. Your job on the weathervane was great. I've used it repeatedly and appreciate it.
You want to hang out here? Then more of that or advocacy, and less pissing and moaning about this group.
